Rated 5 out of 5 by Judyyyyyyyyy Guide Was Bossy and Hard to Understand
We loved the Hoover Dam tour, however, our Guide was bossy and hard to understand. Our guide started by trying to yank my paperwork out of my hand that had all my tour and show confirmations on it. Vegas.com told me he would only have to see my ID. He walked off in a huff when I wouldn't let him take my paperwork, so I then ripped off the confirmation for the Hoover Dam tour only and gave it to him. He was then happy that he had my confirmation, but he could have politely asked me to rip off his confirmation only rather than try to yank all my paperwork out of my hand, then walk off in a huff. Also, I'm disappointed that I couldn't understand all the wonderful facts he talked about due to his strong French accent.. And, the guide was so bossy to everyone, telling us to "PAY ATTENTION" if he heard anyone talk during his guide talk, and NOT TO USE OUR CELL PHONES to talk because it was rude. At one point, we stopped somewhere and I asked if I could use the bathrooms at this stop and he said NO, and it would only be 2 min. to Hoover Dam, but it ended up being 15 more minutes. A couple that sat next to us on the bus said he was also rude and bossy to them.

Tour bus arrived at the pickup location early, we arrived 15 minutes early, guide was annoyed when I asked if I had time to run in and grab a drink. Our tour pickup time was 815am, this was at 8am. Tour guide talked NONSTOP, majority of the conversation with herself was about mass murders, suicide attempts and death. Made jokes about kidnapping all of us and taking us to Arizona, laughed manically at her own jokes. There was a period of 2-3 minutes where she was honestly muttering complete gibberish. The tour itself is only $15. Small water bottles were provided, this was a plus. The bus had working AC, this was also a plus. On the way back to Las Vegas, the bus was traveling at speeds of 75-80 mph ( used an app because it felt like we were going to fly off the side of a mountain.) Although, if you asked our guide, Nevada doesn't have mountains only foothills that don't compare to anything in Colorado, where she was from. She liked to talk with her hands which is not a plus for a bus driver. At one point the bus swerved and scared everyone in tow...she jokingly blamed it on "desert wind storms" when in actuality it was because she was so wrapped up in talking to her self that she swerved off the road. Talked about famous people who lived in town, came across a bit stalkerish. Blatantly asked for tips...... We got off at the first stop back in Vegas even though it wasn't ours. This could have been enjoyable. Rent a car and drive yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Erin23 The Hoover Dam Tour was well worth it!
I took my 14 and 11 year old girls on this trip. They both really enjoyed it. We had Ralph as our guide and he was very knowledgable about the local area. He picked us up in a nice minivan with plenty of space. There were 7 in our van that seats 14. He spoke the whole 45 minute drive out about the geology of the area which was very interesting. We stopped at a nice scenic view and then had 2 hours at the dam. That tour is done by the dam tour guides and was well done. Awesome scenic views at Dam and on the way there! On the way back we had a quick 1/2 hour stop at Ethel M chocolates and walked through the cactus garden out back. It was well worth the money to not have to drive and to have a tour guide explain about the area. We would definitely recommend this trip!!

I was unable to provide a complete review of this tour but made specific recommendations to Vegas.com to better inform future patrons about what to expect from this experience. The tour staff was warm and considerate. The tour buses were comfortable: be prepared for lots of direct sunlight and close quarters on the tour elevators.

Ww were picked up on time in front of our hotel. Our guide was really funny and engaging and was full of fun facts about Vegas and the Hoover Dam. Not much else to say except that I would do it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Monang My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much, except for the heat. It was 120 degrees at the Hoover Dam, but while touring the inside of the dam it good.
Over all the tour was excellent. We got to see the Hoover Dam, lake mead, and saw a lot of goat like wild animal feeding off the grass at near by lake mead park. The only thing we didn't like was the heat, it was 120 degrees at the Hoover Dam
