GameWorks Review

Located right on the Las Vegas Strip inside the Showcase Mall, Gameworks offers state-of-the-art games and attractions for the entire family. Combining the high-tech genius of the Information Superhighway and the sparkle of the Las Vegas Strip, GameWorks is described by its founders as "the ultimate destination for a total entertainment experience."

The joint venture of Sega Enterprises and Universal Studios, GameWorks has something for everyone. And for $35 a person, guests can play unlimited games for the whole day. There is an entire section devoted to racing, including Indy 500 and NASCAR race cars as well as WaveRunners and ATVs. You can even race other visitors on Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

It seems that every video game scenario imaginable is represented at GameWorks. Where else can you take part in air, land and sea battles as you climb into animated jet fighters and tanks? And where else can you digitally compete in the competitive worlds of downhill skiing, horse racing, street luge and skateboarding? At GameWorks, you are able to create your own version of reality. But not all of the games are so high tech. The "old school" games of arcades are represented here as well, including Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede, Galaga and Missile Command. There also are a number of pinball machines, air hockey and other favorites.

GameWorks is about more than just games. A full-service restaurant serves a wide selection of appetizers, pizzas, steak, ribs, pasta and more. In the Loft, visitors older than 21 will find a full-service bar, pool tables and live music.
