Country superstar Trace Adkins is bringing some southern charm to the Golden Nugget this winter for a rocking night of country music.
The man who made it clear that "Ladies Love Country Boys," Adkins will be performing a collection a of most recent and seasoned classic hits when he takes the Vegas stage. Best known for hits including "Songs About Me," "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" and "Chrome," Adkins is a major force in country music. In the early '90s, Adkins began pursuing his solo career and performed at honky-tonk bars and clubs around Nashville. It wasn't long before he was offered a record deal.
Adkins' 1996 debut release, "Dreamin' Out Loud," not only introduced him to the country world, but proved his traditional gospel and honky-tonk roots came in handy. His first single, "There's a Girl in Texas," hit the Top 20 while "Every Light in the House" made it into the Top 5. Adkins received the Best New Male Artist Award from the Academy of Country Music in 1997.
His second album, "Big Time," was released in 1997 and featured the hits "Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone," "Wayfaring Stranger," "Took Her to the Moon" and "Nothin' but the Taillights."
"Chrome" in 2001 was a Top 5 album and the lead single "I'm Tryin'" became one of Adkins' biggest hits. The title track on the album belatedly hit the Top 10 in early 2003. His fifth disc, "Comin' on Strong" was released in 2003.
"Songs About Me" followed in 2005 and "Dangerous Man" followed in 2006. Other albums include "American Man: Greatest Hits Volume II" (2007); "X" (2008); "Cowboy's Back in Town" (2010); "Proud to Be Here" (2011) and "10 Great Songs" (2012).
To date, Adkins holds four Grammy nominations, three American County Music and two Country Music Television awards, as well as three greatest hits albums and 30 chart singles.
Adkins has also dabbled in TV and movies. These include "King of the Hill," "The Lincoln Lawyer," "American Dad!" and "Wyatt Earp's Revenge," to name a few. He appeared on "Celebrity Apprentice" this year. Adkins also released a book entitled "A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Free-Thinking Roughneck."
