Buddy Valastro, star of TLC's "Cake Boss," opens his first restaurant at the Venetian.
The restaurant, a partnership with veteran restaurateurs Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla, is inspired by Valastro's family gatherings and features recipes passed down from his mother, grandmother and aunts.
The menu offers twists on Italian-American favorites, as well as Valastro family favorites like Sunday gravy, steak pizzaiola and linguine and clams with lobster.
The renowned baker's restaurant, of course, also serves an impressive dessert selection including zeppole, cannoli and Valastro's famous lobster tail pastry.
On Sundays, guests can indulge in "Buddy's Family Brunch," which is served buffet-style throughout the restaurant. The buffet includes charcuterie and cheese platters, a chilled station including shrimp on the shell, fresh salads, pasta fagioli, selection of house breads, and a carving station with maple-glazed Smith Field ham, assorted Italian sausages, and slab bacon. Signature brunch items include, chicken rigatoni, mac n' cheese carbonara, chicken parm, meatballs and other dishes, as well as new breakfast options such as Panettone French Toast, roasted vegetable frittata, egg scrambles and Crespelle with Nutella, whipped cream and caramel. The dessert station offers cannolis, tiramisu, assorted Italian cookies and more.
The brunch boasts also has a special kids' buffet with chicken fingers, chicken parm, pizza, crudités, meatballs and desserts including an assorted candy bar where they can pick and choose their favorite treats.
