The Canal Street Café at Jerry's Nugget in North Las Vegas draws a lunch crowd, but it's not too busy to grab a seat without having to wait.
For the thousands of Las Vegas Valley residents who moved to the area after the early days of Vegas, the Canal Street Café, celebrating its 40th year in business this summer, is a glimpse of what it might have been like.
The garden-themed diner is open 24 hours and has a bit of a vintage feel, from the waitresses in aprons to the patty-melt sandwich and popular homemade desserts.
The full menu is available 24 hours daily and features everything from breakfast and Mexican dishes to traditional items such as a thick cut of prime rib and rainbow trout.
Along with the full menu, an assortment of new items, including appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrées, are available on a daily basis.
The café provides quick service, doesn't let a water glass go dry and offers plenty of food to satisfy any midday craving.
