Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino has a bit of everything — except those illegal things that people seem to think permeate all of Las Vegas. Located east of the Strip, you can reach Silver Sevens from Flamingo Road. They even offer a free shuttle to and from the airport and the Strip. We’re not going to list the whole schedule, you can contact the front desk for that, but the point is you can get anywhere you need to go. But they still do all they can to keep you in the casino.
In a courtyard at the center of the property is a lovely swimming pool to help you make the most of the city's sunny weather — AKA the fire in the sky that makes you dive into the pool for relief. And in what we like to call the “cooler” months, when the temperature dips below 60 and all the locals put on winter coats, the fitness center will keep you warm and in shape.
If you’ve worked up an appetite at either the pool or fitness center, or you just feel like eating because you don’t need any other excuse than that, get a taste of what we in the U.S. like to consider world cuisines — like Italian, Chinese and Mexican along with American-style seafood and steaks — at the S7 Buffet. Open 24 hours, the The Sterling Spoon Café, which has a faux garden setting, serves everything from snacks to barbecue combination platters, T-bone steak dinners and baby back ribs. There are some wonderful graveyard specials as well. On Friday and Saturday nights, guests can also indulge in a more upscale steakhouse-style menu with fine spirits in The Back Room at The Sterling Spoon which is not nearly as creepy as it sounds.
Like watching sports and/or using sports as a reason to not talk to anyone while you drink? At William Hill Race & Sports Book you can order beers and other cocktails from the nearby sports bar. And a second bar, the Corona Cantina, is situated near a stage in a lounge where you'll often find live entertainment. And if you are into talking to people, or at least love shouting “bingo” when you win and obscenities when you lose, play bingo in Silver Sevens’ state-of-the-art bingo room.
Silver Sevens offers all the necessary modern hotel amenities while boasting an entertaining and affordable atmosphere — just a jaunt from the Las Vegas Strip. It may not be a hard six, but rolling sevens is nothing to feel bad about. (That’s a craps reference in case you didn’t know.)
