I nearly cancelled my reservation due to the older reviews. This is a very nice hotel for the price. This is NOT a typical vegas hotel so if you're looking for something different and unique, this is it. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room, while small and cozy, was well designed, decent materials for a budget friendly option. The bus is right down the street to get to the strip and the Fremont experience is right around the corner. I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood. The restaurant attached is convenient. My only gripe was that in the Vegas heat, I would think the pool would be swim friendly but it was freezing cold and I am confused on that one. Check this place out! Maybe stay here a couple nights for the downtown experience and stay on the strip a couple nights, that's what I am going to do next time!
Note, the rooms on vegas.com are only for the gold spike tower. I did not see these. Book on vegas.com then call the hotel directly for a very inexpensive upgrade to the rooms around the pool.
Note: Ignore the casino rating, there is no casino attached, but plenty around the corner!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LadyAudigger The backyard was unique
I had a room on the first floor near the pool it was not overly noisy the access to the bar, restaurant and backyard was very easily accessed. I came alone and was very comfortable and felt very secure. The bartenders were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again, granted I was here on a Tuesday night. Would have enjoyed a casino but there is 1 across the street if you want gaming it was enjoyable to see how this property encouraged socializing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KatieH Oasis.. yes and no
As a twenty-something, I really enjoyed this hotel. If you're looking for a quiet place to grab some shut-eye...this is NOT it. The only thing they provide in the rooms are earplugs...for good reason. The only night I slept well was when we got in at 6am, because the club downstairs had finally died down. (and, you read that right, that's the only thing. No phones, no alarm clocks.) I will say the beds are very comfortable (first trip in years that I wasn't desperately missing my bed) and if you've been out all day long, once you hit those sheet the sound really doesn't bother you. After the first night, I didn't need the earplugs.
Other than that though, this place is pretty great. Loved the backyard with fun things to do, live music every night, and a nice little pool which was practically deserted. Pretty reasonable diner, breakfast was great, never tried much off the lunch menu. If you're taking the Deuce-- for the record, there's a stop on the same block. Don't be dumb like us and get off on Fremont and walk 3 blocks every night. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by TaylorLynn This is the place to be in Down Town Vegas
We were originally looking for a hotel on the strip, but it being St. Patty's Day weekend everything was way over priced and booked on the strip! So we came across this place, it's only a 12-15 minute drive from the strip and 5 minute walking distance from Fremont. If you have ever heard of The Yard/Culinary Drop out Restaurant, the outside area is just like that. There's a huge outside area right below Gold Spike with tons of games, life size beer pong, four square, giant chess, a live band/dj, dancing and sitting areas, casino, night club, and restaurants. Then at The Oasis is the pool and a more quiet area away from all the music and people. It's a very clean place, they are on top of everything. Don't intend on sleeping very well, the music plays until about 4:30 AM. It's also very secure, you can't get anywhere without your room key. The room was very nice as well, just a little small. Besides the hotel being over priced for the holiday weekend (we paid $130 a night and it's usually $70 a night, they also charge a $20 a night fee) and being a little far from where we wanted to be, it was a good time!

by Teshi179 Great Location for the Price
We have enjoyed staying here. 1 block from Fremont Street. Close to everything! The rooms are renovated, but our AC was not working well. The pool is beautiful, but it was too cold outside to enjoy. The Hotel has oversized games and a live band. It was a great experience!
There is no Casino, it would not let me leave that blank. Only reason I put poor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MydogTally For all the party people
If you are looking for music 24 hours a day and a non-stop party, this is the place for you! Unfortunately, I was looking for a place to "crash" (as advertised on the website) that accepted pets, had parking and was within walking distance of Freemont St. The Oasis offered the perfect location and accepted dogs, but getting any actual sleep was extremely difficult, even with the provided earplugs. The back yard at the Golden Spike adjacent to the property was great during the day but the live band starts at 11 pm and goes until 3 am.
I wish they had rooms with 2 beds at the Oasis and I also wish that the one bed they did provide did not break as soon as I laid down causing me to have to switch rooms at 11:00 pm.
The pool was FREEZING, which that might actually be nice in say July but not so great in February.
The price and location were great, so I would recommend the hotel to anyone who loves hearing music all day long and is looking to party downtown.
