Rated 4 out of 5 by LyricJones I like the MGM staff better than the room
MGM rooms are very regular...I expected more but it was what we needed so no complaints there. MGM staff were very nice and helpful too

My room was not cleaned adequately. There were chip packets, coke bottles and other items left from previous guests of the room. The shower area would not drain and would quickly overflow resulting in very short showers. Unfortunately, the experience overall was just average.

Huge place, very noisy and full of children running everywhere. My husband and I have COPD (early), diabetes, and he has neuropathy in his feet. Difficult for us to walk great distances or stand for long periods. Lines to check in were terribly long. I was overheated and blood sugar was dropping. Thought I was going to faint and tried to get staff attention which was difficult. Finally a young woman took me to stay well lounge, got me some water, and got us checked in. It would be helpful to have more knowledgeable staff (many couldn't answer questions) and some way to make things more accessible over the long distances within the casino.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MGM1st Average hotel, nothing special. Stayed at nicer Hampton Inns.
Long check in lines. (30+ minutes) Room shower handle kept falling off and the tub wouldn't drain properly, it was extremely slow. Water kept rising up to the middle of my shins while showering. Got a room charge for lifting up the bottle of water in my room. Never drank it. Apparently there's a censor. Check out attendant did remove the charge after checking out, but very petty in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jmoney89 Great Room...poor check in process.
Great room & Pool area. Check in was ok. Despite prepaying for everything but a service charge of $100.80...my credit card was charged for the full amount of the room. (Almost $1200). I was refunded the total amount minus the $100.80 I was responsible. I didn't like that at all. But I'd still use this hotel.

There are nicer and more expensive spots, but MGM has a great location, great pool and fitness center, and plenty of restaurants and events going on. You may never leave the property because there's plenty to do. The rooms are nice, and the spa daily fee was a great deal. I think for value, MGM is tops.

Front desk of this hotel is crazy! We waited 45 minutes to check in!
Supervisors just stand in the background chatting and laughing without jumping in and helping or easing the customers patience!
Beware of getting a room on the west wing over the Porte-cochere or you will only here taxis beeping ALL NIGHT LONG! And no drapes over the windows so prepare for bright rooms at night! Hallways are full of rowdy guests! Believe me, I get it that Vegas is 24 hours and full of party people but at some point you'd like to sleep the alcohol off without getting interrupted every 5 minutes! Ceiling in casino is very low so the smoke permeates! The choices you have for food and drink are extraordinary! Pool is a great time and lazy river is very fun! Room was nice and large but the floor was never vacuumed, had to go to front desk and ask! Beds are super comfy and so are pillows! Don't touch anything in or on top of
Mini bar...all censored and you will be charged for even moving it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sponch Great Trip!
We stayed 3 nights at the MGM grand. This was my first time in Vegas and we were there for a quick relaxing get away, to spend time with my spouse, not for a fancy vacation or to spend a lot of $.
I would stay at the MGM grand again (but I think we'll shoot for the signature next time). The customer service is excellent! Everyone, from bellhop to the security was kind and courteous. I felt they all wanted me to have a good time! There was only 1 thing I felt was bad (see housekeeping).
The room was as described online. We weren't looking for the fanciest place to sleep. What we got was great. it's a small room but great for sleeping. The bathroom was only a little cramped when both my husband and I were getting ready at the same time- but for the price I can't complain. The bed was comfortable. The strange part was there was only 1 outlet on one side of the bed, so I had to charge my phone at the desk- across the room. It reminded me of the a hotel room in Europe- everything was a little bit different, but again we went for the amenities not the room...
... Here is the one thing that was negative about our stay: There was only 1 major thing I felt didn't go well during our stay. I saw a bug in the bathroom. A small round bug- sort of like a baby roach. I called house keeping to clean the room (and told them why)- they didn't do this right away- I called again- they told me they were at capacity since and housekeeping was behind. The first time someone didn't apologize to me. I told them why I was requesting it and the next time we were back in the room it was cleaned. I am very anti-bug. It was not a big bug, it wasn't a roach (I think), it wasn't a bed bug (I heard some of the hotels have those-yikes!). But I do not like bugs! But I only saw that one, near the sink- so I recommend requesting housekeeping every day! (BTW this was on the 8th floor, west wing in the 500's)- good location in the hotel.
The pool: this is the main reason we went to the MGM (not to mention the location/price). There were many options for the pool. We were looking for relaxing. There is one pool you can rent a cabana or chase lounge or pod at a slightly quieter pool ("producer's pool") We didn't want to spend the extra money, but went to the pool right beside it, and toward the hot tub, and found it quiet enough. We tried to avoid the party pool. The lazy river was attractive to me, but you have rent tubes. My husband didn't find the river relaxing, but there are sections that are better than others. Over all I would say it was an average pool in vegas, after I saw some of the nicer pools at some of the much more expensive properties- but it's still a really great pool! The only thing it was lacking was food choices. we wanted a quick bite- and went to their pool side cafe- the food was pre-packaged, and not good at all. And cost $15 for a stale sandwich- and crunchy potato salad- worst meal in Vegas!
..After the pool we lost our room key and had to get security to let us in our room- very prompt, and very nice! Can't say enough for the customer service.
We didn't really use the casino, so I can't comment there. Again, we went for a relaxing cheap get-away, so we didn't gamble.
The location is towards the south end of the strip. We did go up to the Bellagio, and used the monorail, and at one time the bus. The mono is great! The bus is slower, but we did just fine walking! if you travel up the opposite of the strip there is a lot of air-conditioned walking options.
We did go to the Ka show. It was fantastic! and worth the $ I would recommend it! It has something for everyone. Live music, Dance, technology, and very cool show.
Overall it's a good place to stay. I think next time we'll stay at the signature at the MGM, so we can have more pool options, and a fridge option as well! Over all the MGM costumer service I felt was really good, and despite some things I didn't personally like, i felt they did a good job.
