Rated 4 out of 5 by RayMichael55 Ok for a motel
The Downtowner Motel is in the middle of a remodel! I stayed in a remodeled room that seemed not finished! For the price, it was ok. Had to pay for ice, bad neighborhood, and unsecured parking! If no other rooms in Vegas or are outrageous, this place is for you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Digvijay Really BAD Choice of hotel
I was locked out during last day of my reservation. When i called their number, I have received no response. I have to book a new room in different hotel at 2:30 PM in night. When i reached them in the morning to ask how they are going to resolve this issue. Are they going to refund the money or give me additional day to stay for next trip.
They show me a paper in his desk saying if you looked down walk 3 blocks in night and visit their another property opposite to fremont street to get your key unlocked. That paper is in his desk and he said he put that paper every where in property but unfortunately i didn't find that paper anywhere in the property. I got mugged in the night going to hotel.
Really horrible experience and will never book the motel.

You get what you pay for. No customer service and strange office hours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Linda888 Better than expected.
The location was perfect because we were taking the shuttle to EDC in the downtown area. The customer service was awesome. The main apt section of the motel is the section where you see photos of the outside in the stock photos. The actual motel is across the street and was better than expected. I read reviews before hand and brought my own blow dryer and iron. The motel provided the basic shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Everything worked fine in our room which was on the second story. The closest was kinda creepy looking but other than that, the stock photo showed the room pretty well and better than expected. The bed was comfortable but pillow were below average. For the price of $42 a night we were very satisfied to be able to book the room for such a low price. I highly recommend this location if you are just looking for a place to sleep and quick access to shuttles or Fremont Street during big events like EDC. Free parking and amazing staff.

People were great and very very helpful!!! Thanks for that!!!
The room needs big cleaning and Reno!! Carpet was dirty with lots of spots, room was smelling like urin and stale rooms! My wardrobe smelled bad after 2 days in the wardrobe room! Had to buy a new shirt to wear because mine smelled embarrassing!!
Otherwise Vegas was excellent and enjoyed it very much!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kate03 Lower your expectations
My husband and I booked this hotel based on it getting decent reviews even though it was rated as a 2-start hotel. I've stayed in many 2-star hotels and had good experiences, so I expected this to be the same. First, the hotel itself is basically crumbling and there are weird odors in the dark hallways. The hotel front desk is actually across from the street from the actual hotel and is in a low-income apartment complex. We were given a non-smoking room and when we walked into it, the room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. At this point, we wanted to leave but were unable to get a refund, so we switched to another room which was much better. We ended up enjoying the rest of our stay once we adjusted our expectations. If you rent this hotel expecting it to be more like a hostel than a hotel, and recognize that 2-stars in Vegas is less than 2-stars most places, you won't be disappointed. The front desk and maids were accommodating in switching our room, and our second room was at least clean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Wazup1973 Good rates, clean room, would stay again.
I was a little put back when I drove up. There were homeless and bad looking people around the motel which made me feel uneasy. We checked in and the room was updated and had a clean appearance. It did have an unpleasant oder. It had a locked entry door to the rooms that opened with the room key also they had an added security person walking the halls which made me feel safe. The room was quiet and I slept well on the new pillow top clean Matress. It was within a few blocks of the famous Fairmont Blvd and great parking close to the room. The outside appearance was of an older building but the rooms were renovated. The price was amazing so the good out-did the bad and I would stay here again.
