VEGAS.com Brings Famed Video DJ to Festival, Announces Contest for Free Trip to Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV – Feb 27, 2013 – Video DJ Jordan Laws of Screenwerks, a familiar name in the Las Vegas club scene, will perform at the official #VegasTech party at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, on Monday, March 11, at the recently remodeled venue, Red 7.
A former engineer with legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premier, Laws has amazed the likes of socialites Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, athletes like Shawn White and Dwayne Wade, and musicians like Christina Aguilera and Rick Ross. He has been the featured video DJ for Major League Baseball, Converse Sneakers, and Stolichnaya Russian Vodka – and most recently performed at the official Supercross after party in San Diego, sponsored by Red Bull.
His appearance at the #VegasTech party is presented by VEGAS.com, the official travel site for Las Vegas, which also provides a 24-hour contact center to support customers seeking expert advice and assistance in booking Las Vegas shows, air & hotel deals, and recreational activities. Through this sponsorship, VEGAS.com demonstrates a level of support for the local community that extends well beyond tourism.
“With the tremendous success and popularity of SXSW, VEGAS.com is proud to support VegasTech in their efforts to showcase our city’s emerging tech community to influential innovators,” said Bryan Allison, chief operating officer for VEGAS.com. “As the world's largest destination site, we want people to know that Vegas isn't just a great place to visit, it's also a fantastic place to live and work."
In addition to providing top-level entertainment for the party, VEGAS.com is also sponsoring the Free Trip to Vegas! Contest that will run during SXSW. The package includes flight and hotel for two people and two tickets to see a locals’ favorite, the award-winning Absinthe. The winner will be drawn from entries received via mobile check-ins at official #VegasTech events through the community’s mobile app, which is now live in the App Store.
SXSW, held annually in Austin, began in 1994 and continues to grow and attract incubators, start-ups and entrepreneurs. The interactive festival focuses on cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity with presentations, networking, parties and more for the five-day event.
