DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

 

The Desktop Support Technician is the primary point of contact for IT support of end-users and the daily IT functions. The ideal candidate should possess excellent customer service skills, is a self-starter, ability to multi-task and will be able to work under minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Install, upgrade, support,  and maintain PCs and Macs (including hardware and software), printers, faxes, projectors and scanners
  • Document and maintain PC configurations and inventory
  • Process new employee setups using Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Participate in special projects, such as office computer equipment moves, repair/maintenance of printers and PCs, installation and configuration of desktops and laptops.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot mobile phones
  • Document new process and procedures for system changes.
  • Keep up to date with changes in hardware and software technology.
  • Participate in seminars, meetings and training provided by the company.
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or through email
  • Provide strong, proactive customer service.
  • Document best practices and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • College courses towards MIS degree highly preferred. 
  • Two years job related experience. 
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a customer service role. 
  • Experience supporting Windows Active Directory environments. 
  • Basic PC & printer troubleshooting skills. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite, Adobe creative software and popular web browsers. 
  • A valid Nevada Driver’s License, reliable transport, clean driving history and proof of insurance.

     

    To excel at Vegas.com, you must be able to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.  The department’s operating hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  Shifts are 8 working hours per day, with an after-hours on-call rotation which vary as our business operates 24x7. Requirements are high, but in return we offer a competitive compensation package.
