"VEGAS.com is one of the most fun places I've worked - and I've run the gamut from college campus coffee shop to East Coast research firm to Silicon Valley start-up. There aren't many places that can claim regular celebrity office visits (including Wayne Newton, the cast of Cirque du Soleil, and Chippendales) as a company perk. Career-wise, this is a great place. VEGAS.com is experiencing tremendous growth, where multiple large deals with company-wide ramifications are announced together at staff meetings. Everyone at VEGAS.com excels at being flexible and reacting quickly to the market environment and company priorities as they evolve. The benefit of working in such a fast-paced environment is that there are many opportunities for professional growth -where those with initiative can take on critical roles and really shine."

Job Description: Digital Content Producer

We’re Vegas.com, the only online travel agency that operates from inside of Vegas. We offer on-the-ground and behind-the-scenes Vegas intelligence as it happens, so you’ll always find the best travel deals and be the first to know what’s hot. And we’re hiring.

We’re looking for a witty, smart, confident writer. Kinda like Elvis - before his bloated, unhinged, Vegas days.

We’re not writing about Cleveland or Duluth, we’re writing about Vegas. We need someone whose voice is a lot like the city we’re talking about – engaging, real and a hell of a good time. This superstar (some might say unicorn) must be upbeat and outgoing, has to write in the Vegas.com voice, have a killer sense of humor and turn around honest, clever copy under tight deadlines. They should also be able to identify a run-on sentence when they see one (winky face).

Our credibility depends on you. We don’t trick people into believing we know more than the next guy, because we actually do know more than the next guy. We live here and know all the little secrets. When people read our messaging, they should feel like they already trust us. They should believe we’re accessible to them and that we’re the best people to help make sure they have the trip of a lifetime.

Can you write like that? If so, introduce yourself.

What you’ll be called: Digital Content Producer

What you’ll be doing:

  • Researching, writing and editing succinct, interesting content for Vegas.com, the Vegas.com blog and LasVegas.com. This includes product reviews, seasonal content, promotional copy, emails and the occasional video script. You’ll have to make all this stuff fun to read and sometimes, you’ll need to take and edit photos for all these sites too.
  • Building product pages using multiple Content and Inventory Management Systems. This includes writing content, editing and uploading pictures, selecting search categories, creating physical locations and other stuff like that.
  • Attending PR events as a Vegas.com insider whose opinion matters to the people planning their trip to Vegas, from wherever they are in the world. You’ll also be building meaningful relationships within the community because working together is what makes our world go round and also what makes this job awesome.
  • Engaging our social audiences with your multi-media wizardry. As a key player on our creative team, we’ll rely on you to hit the ground running on content creation and strategy that’ll entertain audiences who’ve got the attention spans of a goldfish.

What you’ll need: A thorough understanding of the difference between there, their and they’re, as well as AP style. Knowledge of the Interwebs, WordPress, Microsoft Windows and Office, HTML is a plus but not required. Strong skills in industry-standard Adobe photo, audio and video editing software.

To apply, email jobs@vegas.com, subject Digital Content Producer. Send us your resume; wow us with your cover letter and pick your favorite Las Vegas show and write a cheeky and entertaining (but informative) description for it in 250 words or less. Then, record a 30 second video introducing yourself and giving us the lowdown on a super secret Vegas tip we don’t already know about.
