Less Gourmet Than Expected The best part of our tour was meeting the other couples. We were served no wine, only two cocktails, and very bitter beer. The Irish Pub was nice, but the oversized portion of fish and chips was not our idea of "gourmet." We felt the same about the burger joint -- not gourmet. We were hoping to meet at least one of the executive chefs, but none were available. We were told we would take a limo ride to at least one restaurant, but the whole tour was walking. This was not a problem, since we were in the same area. I would recommend this for someone who has extra money to blow, because it was a fun experience; however, we found it not worth the price, overall. May 14, 2013
Very disappointing I feel the description of this tour is very misleading. There were no top restaurants or executive chefs. We went to an Irish pub and a sports bar as two of our stops. The food was mostly fried which none in our group consider gourmet. Also we were offered mostly beer. Our guide was a young man native to Las Vegas Very knowledgable, but did not quit talking. If it were not for the good friends I was with this tour would have been a disaster. May 5, 2013
What a fantastic time Wow, loved evry second of this. When we got there and found out we were walking my wife and I were concerned. We did this on Friday 29 Mar 13 on the 6th day of a 7 day vacation and our feet were worn to nubs from all our walking but the distance covered was short and the tour guide was fantastic. He was a lot of fun and really knew his stuff. The only thing that might have helped would have been to have the tour start at 1 pm instead of 2. It ran a little longer than we thought and we had to rush to make our evening event. April 6, 2013
Loved the variety; and time frame We (4) all felt the guide did not contribute much. The restaurant staff were great with descriptions Would have liked some history of location, personal stories, anything other than how much time at every stop. Very likeable; but not much input. Loved the tour idea; didn't know when booked that there were other locations and tour choices. March 25, 2013
Fun times We had a great time on the tour. The food was amazing and was nice to learn of new places to eat in Vegas. We ended up going back to two of the restaurants later during our stay. Our tour guide was very nice and very informative. We would definitely do this again at a different one of their locations to experience more great food in Vegas. March 18, 2013
Unique and enjoyable experience We walked to 5 restaurants enjoying food and drinks at each one. Do not eat before taking this tour because you will get more than enough to eat by the end. Great fun to sample all the food including a great dessert at the end. The experience was all the more fun because we had a great guide. Would recommend this tour for one of the more unusual things to do in Vegas. March 3, 2013
We had a great time and are already planning on doing it again for our next trip! First off I want to thank the owner of The Walking Gourmet. We fell ill the early morning of our scheduled tour. We called the number on the confirmation and ended up talking to the owner. I explained the situation and it was VERY AGREEABLE to re-schedule us a different day. We were worried that we had paid all this money and then weren't able to go on the tour because we had fallen ill. Turns out we were worrying for nothing. MANY THANKS again to The Walking Gourmet! Now for the tour... if you want to set outside of your box, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour! We selected the "Culinary Mystery Tour" that starts at the Pilazzo or Mandalay Bay (depending on the day). We were shocked at the price per ticket, but my husband LOVES all of those 'Top Chef' related shows so I thought it would be a treat to do something we wouldn't normally do. Especially since neither of us like seafood or fish of any type. Even so, we made a pack to at least TRY everything that was served to us - even if it was seafood. We met our Tour Guide - who was awesome - and the others on our tour showed up shortly after. True to the name "The Walking Gourmet", our 'vehicle' was our own two feet! We went to five restaurants in four different hotels. Everything was very cool and we got along with our other two tour companions. As we expected, one restaurant we went to served all seafood. To our surprise, however, we both actually LIKED the Crab Cake Slider! For non-seafood people, that's really saying something. ;) Our tour had another surprised... it turned out that 4 out of 5 people were really into Zombies! Who knew?!? Talk about a small world. LOL We took lots of pictures (some of which I'm uploading) and got to talk to the managers of most of the restaurants. We are DEFINITELY going to take this tour the next time we are in Vegas. We'll probably pick a different starting point so we can try other restaurants. Next time we are going to do the culinary tour at the BEGINNING of our trip so we can go back to the restaurants to eat dinner during our remaining stay in Vegas. February 10, 2013
Great way to experience some of the best food in Vegas! After reading some reviews, my husband & I decided to book a tour. I had high expectations and I was not disappointed. The food was great. The restaurants were great. The guide was great. We go to Vegas somewhat often & are always looking for places to eat. We will definately stop by some of these restaurants again & hopefully return for another tour to see some new places as well. September 24, 2012
