If you want to add some fast-paced thrills to your trip, spend the day on a custom-built mini Baja dune buggy racing over the Nellis Dunes.

This trip is ideal for those who crave speed, excitement, spontaneity and a whole lot of adrenaline -- not for the faint at heart. 

This tour uses a custom-built desert racer that has been featured on MTV, The Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, G4, TBS and ABC. The three-quarter desert racers were specifically built at their Las Vegas fabrication center. Each buggy costs $20,000 and takes about a month to build. The desert racing machines are designed to travel through rugged terrain, sand dunes and gravel.  

Upon arrival at the dune buggy headquarters, you'll check in and select your choice of helmet and goggle colors. After a tour of the dune buggy garage and a brief orientation, one of the guides will drive you to the Nellis Dunes. Once you climb into your buggy, get ready for a fast-paced, unpredictable adventure. You'll travel across aggressive and challenging terrain composed of steep hills, sand dunes, gravel and hard-packed dirt.Your guide leads the way as you race through the wild Southwest desert landscape -- 15,000 acres to be exact!

The more confident you feel on the dunes, the more challenging the trails you'll experience. Since there is typically more than one guide per tour group, you can drive faster or slower, depending on your comfort level. While virtually anyone can drive these desert racers (it's similar to driving an automatic car), those who don't feel comfortable with driving can sit on the passenger's side. There are even multi-seat buggies available. While you'll probably be busy looking straight ahead on your action-packed trail, the Nellis Dunes actually offers remarkable views of the sky and Southwest mountains. 

Coasting through several different trails at top speed is definitely something you can tell your friends back home about. But the only way to truly understand the drive is to experience it first-hand.

This tour includes round-trip shuttle transportation to and from your hotel. Even if you're staying off the Las Vegas Strip, the tour guides can pick you up almost anywhere in town. 

Please note: Dune buggy racing portion is 30 minutes long.

Guests have the option of booking a one-seat, two-seat, four-seat, five-seat or six-seat buggy. One and two-seat vehicles are ideal for those seeking a high-speed, intense racing experience. Four, five and six-seat vehicles are perfect for families. Prices vary on vehicle size.

Renters must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license. Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license and must be accompanied by an adult. No open toed shoes or sandals are allowed. Please check weather conditions and dress appropriately.
