Toroweap, one of the most remote locations in the country, offers some of the most spectacular views in the world. Capture the true essence of this exclusive section of the Grand Canyon and experience nature's solitude in a way only few have witnessed. During your tour, see the beautiful city of Mesquite, Nev., the rugged Virgin River Gorge and the picturesque city of St. George, Utah. You'll then travel across the historic Arizona Strip and see country roads. Inaccessible to most, these country roads include vast prairie plains, mountainous horizons and traditional active ranches.  

Marvel at dramatic views at the narrowest, deepest part of the inner canyon, which is more than 3,000 vertical feet above the Colorado River. Here you'll also see (and often hear) Lava Falls Rapids, the largest and wildest on the river. A photographer's dream, the canyon's colorful hues created from past volcanoes offer a brilliant, one-of-a-kind viewpoint.  

Toroweap, a Paiute term meaning "dry or barren valley," refers to many local features, including the geologic formation and fault, the valley and the overlook. Today, the area is managed for preservation of the abundant natural and cultural resources, as well as the enjoyment for those who venture to this remote corner of the Grand Canyon.
