The Rio Spa Review
Set away from the action of the main hotel, the Rio Spa is a true sanctuary and feels worlds apart from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas Strip.
Decorated in light neutrals and marble flooring, the Rio Spa immediately puts visitors at ease. But what really sets the spa apart is the excellent customer service and the well-trained staff who are adept at anticipating guests' needs.
The Rio Spa has separate entrances to men's and women's facilities and most of the amenities are the same in each area. However, the men's spa features two hot tubs complete with a flat screen TV while the women are provided with one hot tub and private bath tubs.
Spa patrons are invited to spend some time in the relaxation room, complete with a television, magazines and newspapers. There are several couches and chairs to sit back in while enjoying an endless supply of water, coffee, tea, juice, pretzels and fruit.
In all, the Rio Spa houses 19 treatment rooms, four of which are aesthetician rooms and 15 are designated for massages. There are two rooms used for couples' treatments.
Another popular treatment is the Swedish Massage. Long soothing strokes are used to relax the body, improving circulation while easing muscle aches and tension. To further enhance the experience, numerous add-ons are available with any massage: stress reduction, relaxation, energizing and calming.
Among the many facials offered at the Rio Spa are the Soothing Oatmeal Facial, the Anti-Aging Alpha Beta Facial and the Rio Signature Facial with multivitamin hand treatment. The purpose of the Rio Signature Facial is to repair the areas most damaged by the sun, the face, neck and hands. The treatment begins with the application of a multivitamin exfoliant which improves elasticity and texture. A face, neck and shoulder massage soon follows to improve circulation and skin tone and the final step is an antioxidant-nourishing masque and a paraffin hand dip.
Other spa features available to guests include a fitness room, whirlpools, Eucalyptus steam rooms and redwood saunas. Patrons of the dry saunas are equipped with buckets of ice containing orange slices and bottled water.
The Rio Salon (which is attached to the spa) provides guests with a full range of services including hair and nail services, makeup application and waxing. There also is a collection of makeup and body products available for purchase in the lobby.
