Spa by Mandara at Paris Review
Paris Spa by Mandara combines sensual Balinese elements with luxurious European decor, creating a peaceful sanctuary ideal for pampering.
Thirty treatment rooms are decorated in natural wood and stone, with imported embroidered silks, rich carpets and handcrafted Balinese wood massage tables. Six of the rooms are grand suites designed especially for couples packages. They feature whirlpool baths, double-headed showers, a lounge area and their own attendants.
A full-service salon as well as a fitness center round out the bevy of amenities available at the 25,000-square-foot Paris Spa by Mandara.
Two boutiques at Mandara Spa offer a complete selection of Elemis and La Therapie products to help guests continue their spa treatment at home. Also for sale are workout clothing, books, videos and various teas.
The spa provides separate men's and women's areas complete with saunas, Eucalyptus steam rooms and heated whirlpools. The men's area also offers a cold plunge pool. In both areas, guests are invited to enjoy juices, coffee, fruit and water in the relaxation rooms throughout their visit.
Treatments at Mandara Spa include wraps, scrubs, facials and massages, but perhaps the most popular service offered at the spa is the Mandara Stone Therapy. During the century-old treatment, aromatic oils and heated stones are used to relax the body over a period of 50 to 80 minutes.
The Visible Brilliance Facial instantly firms and rejuvenates the skin while restoring its tone and texture, leaving your complexion smoother and more hydrated. Also included in this facial is the Japanese Silk Eye Zone therapy which incorporates specialized lifting massage techniques to refine, oxygenate and increase cellular renewal around the eyes. The entire service lasts 50 minutes and all of the facials at Mandara Spa include the application of moisturizer to hands and feet, followed by warm mitts and booties.
The Exotic Frangipani Body Nourish Wrap is nearly an hour of tropical heaven and delight as coconut extract is soaked with the flower of the Tahitian Frangipani. Long-used by Polynesian women, the "monoi" (an ancient Tahitian word for "scented oil") soothes, conditions and softens the skin. A warm, foil wrap concludes the treatment.
Another popular choice is the Paris for Lovers package in which couples experience the ultimate Parisian getaway in one of the grand suites. The two-hour package includes a French silkening body polish, pastries and refreshments while relaxing in a whirlpool for two and an Aromatique massage.
Regardless of which service they select or how long they spend at Mandara Spa, guests will experience the Balinese origin of the spa, which is demonstrated in the ritual, beauty and grace of every treatment offered.
To reach Paris Spa by Mandara from the Paris parking garage, take the escalators down and walk halfway through the Le Boulevard shops until you get to the guest elevators. The spa is located on the second floor.
