Steel Panther is one cat-chy show
Some people think that glam rock died with the onset of the '90s -- that's until they hear Steel Panther. Since the group formed in Los Angeles in 2000, they've been reminding partiers everywhere what it means to rock with their covers of popular '80s hair metal hits and parodies of the groups that made the songs famous. Steel Panther takes audiences back to the days when rockers sported teased-out hair, tight pants, black eyeliner and embodied a sense of over-the-top indulgence that helped define the era.
The group consists of Michael Starr (frontman), Satchel (lead guitarist), Lexxi Foxxx (bassist) and Stix Zindinia (drummer). Steel Panther got their start on the Sunset Strip performing weekly shows at the Viper Room. The group performed under different names including Metal Shop and Metal Skool. In 2003 the group released their debut album "Hole Patrol." Following that they appeared in a Discover Card advertisement and on the "Drew Carey Show." The added exposure helped the group gain a steady following, and they became one of the most popular cover bands in California.
With their growing popularity the next logical step was heading to Sin City where the group has continued to perform and attract audiences at several hotels in Vegas. Steel Panther has plenty of hard rockin' hits and paired with their wild stage show you might just be wondering who let the cat out of the bag.
