There's more to this 'Fantasy' than just flesh
By Justin Lawson
Every since we were pubescent teenagers -- for some, earlier -- we've engaged in fantasies. They typically include winning a large sum of money or becoming a professional athlete.
But for many, the top fantasy revolves around beautiful women. There's the fantasy about three playful vixens in one bed, the Western-themed one with women in nothing but chaps, thongs and cowboy hats and who can forget that sexy cop fantasy.
Well, at Fantasy at the Luxor they have combined all those fantasies you have ever thought of into a 90-minute show complete with a gorgeous singer and a hilarious comedic impressionist.
Fantasy has endured a 10-year run at the Luxor and was recently dealt a blow when former "Baywatch" babe and Playboy model Angelica Bridges left the show. But with the addition of Lorena Peril as the new lead singer, the show has taken on a fresh, Latin vibe.
Peril has the vocal range of Christina Aguilera and the sexy hip gyrations of Shakira. Her rendition of the James Brown classic "It's a Man's Man's Man's World," is enough to easily fill up a room of this size, but you really came here to see the topless revue.
The long-legged dancers perform various routines throughout the night and leave your eyes wondering which way to look. They start the show with a roll call that includes sequined tops, but by the time their names are announced you've suddenly gotten a little closer to these girls.
The show takes off with a bed, a mirror, a chair and one lingerie-clad beauty and before you know it, one sexy lady becomes three. The party changes on the next routine with the girls donning some of the sexiest chaps you've ever seen as they dance to "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy." With all this early excitement, it's difficult to remember you're only a few minutes into the show.
But surprisingly -- considering this show is about sexy women -- it doesn't really get going until Sean E. Cooper makes his appearance. The comedic impressionist comes onto the stage as James Brown and turns into Sammy Davis Jr.
Before the show is over Cooper will surprise the audience with two more impersonations that we just can't ruin for you here.
Fantasy steps on the accelerator after Cooper comes out as it takes you on a ride through the various fantasies. But unfortunately this ride does have to come to an end at some point. Thankfully, though, after a sexy aerial silk trapeze routine and several other acts involving Cooper and Peril, all your fantasies should be covered.
And if the cast happened to miss one, you could always catch up with them after the show at the meet and greet. But let's face it, that's just another fantasy.
