Crystals Review

Las Vegas is about to take luxury shopping to a whole different level.

Opening Dec. 3, 2009, CityCenter's 500,000-square-foot retail mecca, Crystals, will carry some of the largest designer brands. For many of these brands, Crystals location will represent their largest in Las Vegas, the United States, or in some cases, the world.

"We've assembled an extraordinary collection of retailers and restaurateurs to make Crystals one of the world's most unique shopping and entertainment districts," said Frank Visconti, president of retail for CityCenter. "Crystals will delight guests with its unique architecture, awe-inspiring interior design, brilliant art and intriguing water features. These experiential offerings, coupled with exclusive items from the industry's most celebrated brands, will make Crystals a premier social and cultural environment in the heart of CityCenter."

Unique-to-the-market retailers opening their first locations in Las Vegas include Tom Ford, Assouline, Kiton, Miu Miu, Paul Smith and Porsche Design, Robert Coin, along with H. Stern, de Grisogono, Marni, Boutique Tourbillon and Mikimoto.

Crystals will feature a two-level Louis Vuitton store. This location will include men's and women's ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, watches, jewelry, sunglasses, textiles, ties and accessories. Located in the center of Crystals, this store will be one of the largest Louis Vuitton locations in North America.

Marni features a collection of women's, men's and children's ready- to-wear lines in addition to shoes, bags, small leather goods and eyewear. Known worldwide for luxury men's clothing, Ermenegildo Zegna showcases its extensive collection of suiting, sportswear, small leather goods and accessories.

At the Tourbillon boutique, shoppers can find prestigious brands such as Breguet, Blancpain, Glashutte Original, Jaquet Droz, Leon Hatot and Omega. In homage to the parent company's namesake: Swatch Group, a selection of exclusive watches and jewelry from the Swatch brand also will be featured.

Those fans of sparkle are in luck: Crystals will feature the finest jewelry retailers. Tiffany & Co. will boast an approximately 10,000-square-foot, two-level store that faces Las Vegas Boulevard. The store will offer exclusive Tiffany & Co. collections including the jeweler's celebrated diamond engagement rings and jewels of ultimate glamour; fine and sterling silver jewelry; the signature designs of Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger and Frank Gehry; watches; gifts and accessories.

A favorite among Hollywood celebrities, de Grisogono's boutique features fresh and innovative watch and jewelry designs. In addition, The Crystals will also feature a Rolex boutique.

H. Stern, a renowned international jeweler famous for original and innovative designs in gold, diamonds and precious gemstones, will open a location at The Crystals. The brand is regularly featured in magazines and often chosen by top celebrities for red carpet appearances. This will be the first H. Stern location in the West Coast, and only the third in the country.

Offering the world's finest selection of Akoya and South Sea cultured pearl jewelry since 1893, Mikimoto revolutionizes the classic image of pearls by designing jewelry to fit in with today's style.

Other prestigious retailers joining Crystals' luminous lineup include Bally, Emilio Pucci and ILORI. Additionally, Dale Chihuly will introduce a stunning new gallery.

Restaurants opening their first Las Vegas locations at Crystals include Eva Longoria Parker's Beso and Mastro's Ocean Club Seafood House. These dynamic restaurants will join an exciting new pub concept by Todd English as well as two new concepts by Wolfgang Puck. One will be a traditional French brasserie with tastes of the Mediterranean region. The other is "Pods," which will feature light American and Mediterranean fare.

A Sunset Strip favorite with many celebrities, Katana offers Japanese cuisine including premium sushi, sashimi, tempura and the restaurant's unique specialty, Robatayaki. Robatayaki consists of market-fresh ingredients grilled on bamboo skewers over Japanese-imported Bincho Tan charcoal. A certified sake sommelier as well as cocktail and Japanese beer options are also available.

In addition to Crystals, the 18-million-square-foot CityCenter will feature Aria, Mandarin Oriental, The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences, Vdara and Veer Towers.
