McCall's Heartland Grill Review:

McCall's Heartland Grill is a Midwestern-style steakhouse located just off the casino floor at the Stratosphere. The concept was developed by Stratosphere Food and Beverage Vice President Matthew Mascali and the menu was designed by Stratosphere Executive Chef Rick Giffen. The restaurant features combines Midwestern and Pacific Coast flavors served in a "cowboy chic" atmosphere with booths surrounded by stone and natural wood.

Start out with appetizers like pan seared lobster cakes, braised beef short rib sliders or a PBB & J crostini -- a toasted baguette with peanut butter, bacon bleu cheese and jalapeno jelly.

A variety of soups and salads are available including a Kansas City chopped salad with grilled chicken or beef tenderloin tips.

Steaks come in a wide variety of options including a coffee rubbed center cut New York strip with bleu cheese butter; a horseradish crusted ground chuck steak or the pepper crusted filet of beef with smoked cheddar potato croquettes and pepper sauce.

Seafood lovers will delight in lobster tails, Scottish salmon and blackened Hawaiian Ono.

A variety of side dishes are available to accompany your meal including buttermilk mashed potatoes, creamed spinach with roasted poblano chilis and grilled corn on the cob wedges.
