Lakeside Review:

Chef David Walzog (SW Steakhouse) brings a fresh perspective on popular American cuisine to Lakeside at Wynn Las Vegas. With seafood and meat dishes, Walzog uses five techniques, grilled, braised, poached oven-roasted or charbroiled, to create your meal.

The main dining room features hues of bold red-orange and a muted palette of clean whites and off whites. From most tables, you can see into the glass-enclosed kitchen where cooks scurry to prepare your meal.

The restaurant has a great view of the Lake of Dreams, which comes alive periodically throughout the night. An outdoor patio is the perfect place for enjoying your meal while getting a front row seat.

For food, the menu features fish like roasted Dover sole and grilled Hawaiian red snapper. A seafood stew-like shellfish pot includes lobster, prawns and scallops in a spicy broth. The oven roasted lobster stuffed with crab meat doesn't disappoint, and is served with drawn butter in a heated dish.

There are a few items that shouldn't be missed, including an Iberico ham presentation, an impressive chilled shellfish platter and very good crab cakes.

The impressive "sweet cart called desire" rolls to your table and you can pick a few tasty treats including a sea salt and bacon chocolate bar and a house made peanut butter cup.

Overlooking the spellbinding Lake of Dreams, Lakeside is a good place for a trendy, fun Vegas dinner experience.
