Serendipity 3 Review:
Famous for dishes like the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, Serendipity 3 is a welcome addition to Las Vegas restaurants. The popular New York eatery has opened its first West Coast location in Caesars Palace.
Pink and orange awnings line the terraces, which have a great view of the Las Vegas Strip, while the interior features a full seating area with old-fashioned ice cream parlor décor, bar and a retail area. A 26-foot-tall Tiffany-style lamp flanks the outdoor patio. The patio has a full bar with counter seating and several high-definition TVs.
Start out with a nice cocktail or fruity beverage like the Gotta Colada, a blended beverage with coconut, fresh pineapple and ice layered with strawberry puree. A cotton candy martini is served with real flavored cotton candy on top.
Popular menu items include the Summer Bries, an open-faced sandwich on raisin pumpernickel with turkey, apples cranberry mayo and brie cheese. The Forbidden Broadway is a chocolate blackout cake, ice cream and hot fudge sauce.
A righteous jumbo all-beef hot dog includes toppings like relish, the house Dijonaise sauce, nacho cheese sauce, onions and sauerkraut -- it's a fabulous combo if you put a little of each on the foot-long, but bring your Tums. There's also a sampling of small hot dogs, the "Teenie Weenies," a trio of Sabrett hot dog sliders with a Coney Island dog, Chicago dog and California-style dog.
Other noteworthy items include the amazing Reuben sandwich with corned beef piled high, special sauce, cheese and sauerkraut. Not for the faint of heart, this sandwich is served on pumpernickel bread and is a true New York delight. A few special creations for the Caesars Palace location include the One-N-Only Las Vegas Strip Steak Sandwich.
Serendipity 3 also serves a tasty breakfast including strawberry balsamic cream waffles and a deep fried eggs Benedict.
If you're a high-roller, dip your spoon into the golden opulence sundae, which is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive dessert! The foot-tall sundae is served in a crystal goblet and comes with five scoops of Tahitian vanilla ice cream, gold leaf, rare Venezuelan chocolate and exotic fruits.
For something a little less opulent, try the Fried Twinkie Sundae, drizzled in chocolate, butterscotch and marshmallow sauce.
Serendipity 3 has enough temptations to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth.
