Carve Review:
Dining at Carve was a surprise. Located off the Eastside Cannery's main casino floor, I was expecting a smoky, noisy, stuffy restaurant that slapped a slab of beef on your table without much care. What I got was a simple but delightful meal, friendly service and a quiet, but not antiquated dining experience. The dining room features fine china, white table linens and a relaxed upscale feel. High-back chairs embellished with dark wood accents and candles on the table add to the experience at Carve. For starters, head for the shrimp cocktail: three tender jumbo shrimp served with traditional cocktail sauce. Main dishes offered include a prime rib carving station, steaks, seafood and chicken. A few highlights on the menu include the ossobuco, a traditional Italian dish featuring a slow-braised veal shank. The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender and served over a bed of risotto. It's a big portion, so come hungry. The steaks are delicious. Choose from prime cuts like porterhouse and filet mignon. The steaks are served with a dollop of truffle butter and a roasted tomato pierced with a sprig of aromatic rosemary. For dessert, traditional ice cream and crème brûlée with fresh berries make a great meal. A full wine and bar selection is also available for guests. -- Review by Nikki Neu
