Pizzeria Francesco's has many great options for lunch and dinner. The charming restaurant inside Treasure Island is an affordable option and serves quality pizzas, salads and more.
Red, orange and yellow ribbon-striped booths line the semi-open wall adjacent to the casino. Elegant chandeliers, archways and exposed beams give the restaurant a Tuscan inspired look.
Starters include a caprese salad with tender mozzarella layered between red and yellow tomato and drizzled with aged balsamic vinaigrette. Francesco's salad contains tender hearts of palm, olives, tomato, salami, provolone and garbanzo bean with mushrooms and a light Italian dressing.
Risotto fritters are breaded and deep fried golf ball-sized spheres of rice, served with a tangy marinara sauce.
Main courses include a delicious pappardelle with tomato sauce, olives, and artichokes. The pasta is imported from Italy and while not house-made, is prepared well.
Linguine with fresh clams in a red or white "broth" is most like a linguine in white clam sauce, tender, fresh clams with hints of white wine, garlic, parsley. Perhaps a little brothier and not as oily, for those who are health conscious.
Pizzas include a delicious margherita style pizza with tomato, olive oil and basil. One of the best dishes I tried was the mushroom and caramelized onion pizza with truffle oil. These heavenly flavors blend well and the truffle oil really stands out.
Feta kalamata olive, tatziki and red onion pizza is delicious, and rather like a salad on a pizza. It makes a great summer dish and is also a great way to get a serving of vegetables in.
A few house wines (the Chianti house wine is perfectly delightful) are available as well as drinks from the bar.
Desserts offered include cannolis, lemon sorbetto and tiramisu ice cream sandwich, which is a frozen treat with toasted whipped cream and a great way to end a meal.
