McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon Review:

Dueling pianos, Guinness by the pint, fish 'n' chips -- McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon at the Rio is where it's at for everything Irish. The spacious 7,000-square-foot pub boasts live entertainment, two full bars, and plenty of good food, thanks to Executive Chef Brian Ratheun.

McFadden's serves up traditional Irish fare like shepherd's pie, made with ground beef and topped with mashed potatoes and melted cheese. Fish 'n' chips is a traditional house favorite and grilled salmon with long-grain wild rice is a healthier option.

There are even Irish nachos, crispy fries smothered in cheese with bacon bits, green onions and a side of ranch.

More traditional pub fare options include chicken fingers, onion rings, sliders, and mac & cheese bites. A variety of salads and soups are offered, including a goat cheese salad and an Irish onion soup made with a brandied beef broth. Burgers and sandwiches include traditional turkey club, Buffalo wrap, bacon blue cheese burger, and a mushroom and swiss burger.

A few highlights?

McFadden's Buffalo wings are crispy wings tossed in a hot or mild sauce and served with ranch or bleu cheese dressing, sure to go well with your frosty mug of brew. For something a little more elegant, try the crab cakes, made with yellow squash, zucchini, and red pepper and served with a spiced lemon aioli. The crab cakes are flavorful and sweet from the vegetable medley, yet still choc-full of crab.

One delightful surprise at McFadden's is the barbecued ribs.

I know what you're thinking. Barbecued ribs, at an Irish pub? Yet McFadden's offers delicious slow-cooked ribs, grilled to perfection and slathered with homemade barbecue sauce. The enormous portion of fall-off-the-bone tender ribs is served with fries and slaw. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

In addition to great food, McFadden's has 24 beers on tap and a full selection of beverages, sure to keep you going into the wee hours of the morning. The original McFadden's in New York City and the second restaurant in Chicago have both become staples for music, fun and food.

Now, McFadden's Las Vegas is making its mark on the Las Vegas nightlife scene and is coming on strong, with 20 high-definition TVs to watch the sporting event of your choice, a friendly staff and loud, pumping music. McFadden's is also open until 4 a.m. to give you plenty of time to drink all the Guinness your little heart desires.

At night, McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon features music spun by DJ Soup Can, dueling pianos and a packed-house, lively atmosphere that puts McFadden's on the map as a top pick for Vegas nightlife.

With great food, great nightlife, great music and its convenient location in the heart of the Rio Hotel & Casino, McFadden's is a sure bet, no Irish luck required.
