Okada Review:

A grand-scale waterfall softly delivers a fragrant mist outside, while warm woods inside add to a tranquil relaxing energy that flows through Okada at Wynn Las Vegas. The unique factor? The modern Japanese restaurant is tranquil, elegant dining at its best.

“You feel very calm and secluded, especially at the Pagoda table, with the waterfall. You feel like you’re somewhere else, not in Vegas,” says General Manager Chiachi Kuo.

Nonetheless, it is clear Okada’s attention is on the food. Okada delivers masterful dishes via sushi and sashimi, robatayaki grill offerings, and classics -- with a twist.

“We always create new, modern dishes,” says Executive Chef Masa Ishizawa. Ishizawa fuses his traditional Japanese culinary background with his French continental background. The result is modern Japanese cuisine that, frankly, sets the trend for other restaurants.

Sushi includes the signature Okada roll, filled and topped with generous portions of lobster for an impressive display.

The salmon sashimi is a buttery piece of heaven.

A variety of sushi and sashimi rolls are available, made with the freshest, high-quality seasonal ingredients. The menu rotates seasonally, but includes a rich Alaskan king crab legs dish, grilled and drizzled with a light yuzu butter sauce.

Not to be missed, the trio of tartars served in taro root tacos are fun crowd pleasers.

The menu changes seasonally to keep the menu fresh and seasonal ingredients are used.

“My philosophy is simple. Keep it simple and let the ingredients speak,” says Ishizawa. Above all the noise and hoopla in Vegas, what a statement they’re making.

Okada is Japanese fusion cooking at its absolute best. With scenic views of the waterfall, tranquil atmosphere, and delicious, innovative food, Okada inside the Wynn Las Vegas is a great dining choice.
