Lupo by Wolfgang Puck is an Italian restaurant by the pioneering celebrity chef. Known for making food look good, Puck, with the help of Executive Chef Eduardo Perez, doesn't miss a beat. The restaurant at Mandalay Bay delivers excellent food, including handmade pastas, pizzas, steaks and seafood.
Once seated, crispy giant breadsticks (we're talking 24 inches long) arrive at your table. You can also order a drink from the more-than-ample wine list or cocktail menu.
If it's pizza you're craving, try a pizza from the wood burning oven, like Portobello mushroom, caramelized onions and Fontina cheese. For a more classic option, try the Margherita pizza, served simply with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese and basil. The pizzas have a thin, crisp crust and are made using fresh ingredients.
If you like fresh fish, Lupo offers a fantastic Mediterranean sea bass. The bass is pan seared to create a crispy outer skin and then finished in the oven for a flaky, tender fish. The sea bass is a light dish that won't weigh you down if you have a night of dancing ahead of you.
If you're more of a carnivore, try the osso bucco. This tender cut of veal is braised in red wine and served over saffron risotto and sautéed spinach. Other meat options include chicken piccata, veal Milanese and calf's liver steak with creamy polenta.
For dessert, try sweet treats like bombolini or mini donuts, served warm and coated with sugar. Or, the chocolate cake is also a delicious treat.
Lupo features an indoor patio that opens to out toward the Mandalay Bay casino. Inside the restaurant, it seems to consistently be busy. The white-cloth covered tables surround the center bar. Most tables have a view of the partially exposed kitchen.
Lupo by Wolfgang Puck offers guests Italian favorites that are executed well and served with Puck's signature flair.
