Mon Ami Gabi Review:
"People come in and feel like they're in France. When you walk out on the patio here, it feels like you're in Paris." Executive Chef Terry Lynch sums up the essence of Mon Ami Gabi inside the Paris hotel.
With prime real estate right on the Strip, Mon Ami Gabi is the ultimate choice when dining al fresco.
The French steakhouse theme is carried throughout the restaurant. From the style of chairs to the menu on a chalkboard, to the airy atrium which opens out to the patio, Mon Ami Gabi has cornered the al fresco dining experience by incorporating features intrinsic of cafés on the Champs Elyseés.
"We try to play with the theme of what a French bistro was in the 1950s, 1960s -- but get playful with it. We do a lot of classic French bistro food but switch it up with some new techniques and ingredients," says Lynch.
The patio scene is always busy for lunch and dinner.
"There's a really great energy, there's a vibe of something really cool going on especially at nighttime, the place looks good, and it's packed, it feels like a party all time," says Lynch.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily and brunch on the weekends.
"It's important to keep the cooks working on new food at all times. . . It makes them better cooks," says Lynch when asked about changing the menu.
Being a traditional steakhouse, the restaurant serves a variety of steak options. However, Mon Ami Gabi has a variety of other French dishes in their repertoire. There are daily specials, so ask your server.
"It's all about French versions of comfort food done really well," explains Lynch.
One of the unique features of Mon Ami Gabi's patio is that it sits at ground level, right on the Strip, making it almost interactive with the people walking by and Strip traffic. Here, you can enjoy people watching while sipping on your favorite glass of wine from Mon Ami Gabi's reasonably priced wine menu. There is also a more exclusive collection of labels, for those who have hit it big at the tables.
"No place else in the city that has the kind of people watching we've got going on over here," says Lynch.
The patio also has great views of the Bellagio water show.
With a hip, trendy scene suitable for all ages, Mon Ami Gabi delivers a great patio scene for dining al fresco.
