The Range Steakhouse Review:

Old world Vegas — that concept is carried throughout Range Steakhouse at Harrah's. Manager Mark Manca and Assistant Manager Robert Deones are natives of Las Vegas, the latter with more than 40 years of experience in the restaurant business.

The restaurant features wrap-around windows for scenic views of the Las Vegas Strip and directly faces the dramatic entrance to the Forum Shops at Caesars. But Range Steakhouse doesn’t forget that it is, first and foremost a restaurant whose main purpose is to serve quality food.

This restaurant is a true steakhouse, with a few special dishes added to the menu.

One not-to-miss dish is the escargot en croute. Escargots are submerged in butter, parsley and garlic and topped with a dome of flaky puff pastry for a sinfully delicious starter. Also, try the Alaskan crab cocktail, giant crab legs split open and served with cocktail sauce and fresh lemon.

A Peking duck confit, shrimp cocktail and brandied lobster bisque are other starter options.

Steaks include traditional options like a giant 24-ounce porterhouse and filet mignon.

A tender lobster is served de-shelled with drawn butter and fresh lemon.

Other options include salmon, chicken, scallops, lamb chops and lobster tails with herb butter.

Sides like a rich creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes complete the meal.

Desserts don’t stray far from the traditional steakhouse favorites, like ice cream, chocolate cake, and crème brûlée.

Enjoy live jazz music performed by Ghalib Ghallab, Thursday – Saturday nights in the Range’s lounge area. The lounge features comfortable club chairs to relax and have cocktails in before dinner.

This is the stuff that makes Range Steakhouse great – a beautiful view of the Las Vegas Strip, attentive servers, ambient jazz music (not the usual house or hip-hop you hear at trendy restaurants) and delicious food.
