A landmark for more than 50 years, the classic Tropicana Las Vegas brings a touch of old-school charm to the Las Vegas Strip.
The vintage Vegas hotel will add modern charm as it undergoes three phases of construction and renovations over the next couple
years, with minimal impact on guests. For Phase I alone, a dedicated $125 million is going towards revamping the 61,000 square
foot casino, carpet, restaurants, 105,000 square feet of conference space, more than 500 Paradise Tower rooms (opening in
March or April 2010), back of the house and more. Phase II and III of Tropicana’s remodeling involve plans to add a nightclub,
a huge sports book and a remodel for the Island Tower and Garden rooms, and outside of the building.
Returning visitors will be amazed by the transformations at the Tropicana. The kiosk-filled hallway that connects the mezzanine
to the convention area and Island Tower is now covered in bright, white marble, and it's kiosk free. The old purple and green
carpet throughout the hotel is making way for more subdued, modern colors.
Many people have been drawn to the Tropicana's five-acre tropical pool paradise with three swimming pools and whirlpools, cascading waterfalls and lush foliage. In the summertime, swim-up blackjack
tables enable guests to partake in gaming action while soaking up the sun. Although the pool area will be undergoing renovations,
guests will still be able to enjoy the area and swim during pool season.
The property also features a styling salon and barber shop, a variety of unique shopping options, six restaurants, a tropical-themed
island wedding chapel and more than 100,000 square feet of convention and exhibit space.
The Tropicana was originally deemed the "Tiffany of the Strip" because of its elegant atmosphere. It stands today as a reminder
of Las Vegas history, evoking nostalgia while offering the conveniences and pleasures of modern day.
