A stay at the 47-acre Texas Station is a relaxed experience. Designed to evoke feelings of the Lone Star State, the décor tends to be both refined with brick and stone accents and whimsical with an oil rig in the parking lot next to the marquee. Located in North Las Vegas at Rancho Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard, Texas Station is about 10 minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from the Strip. It opened in 1995, becoming the third property in the now huge Station Casinos family. The theme for the resort comes from the company's founding family, the Fertittas, who hail from Galveston, Texas.

There is plenty of parking here, thanks to two garages containing a total of 4,400 spaces. With rooms that offer everything from cable TVs, blackout drapes and wireless internet access to hair dryers, safes and clock radios, Texas Station exceeds all expectations.

However, it's unlikely you'll want to do any cooking. Save your appetite for Texas Station's mouth-watering restaurants. Known for its USDA prime and choice steaks, Austins Steakhouse is a gift to the palate. Clever creations like lobster cannelloni and Tuscan steak are on the menu in the Italian-themed Pasta Cucina. The Texas Star Oyster Bar serves New Orleans-inspired fare in a chic setting. And the Feast Buffet is always bursting with aromatic flavors from around the world -- as well as the hum of happy conversation.

Open 24 hours a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, everything you can imagine is on the menu at the Grand Café. Several beloved fast food outlets -- like Sbarro, Panda Express, Fatburger, Baja Fresh and Starbucks -- can be found in the food court.

This resort offers 125,000 square feet of gaming action. The impressive casino is packed with more than 2,000 slot and video poker machines, 27 table games, a smoke-free poker room, a keno lounge and a 206-seat race and sports book. Plus, you can play bingo at almost any time of day in the sprawling 486-seat bingo hall.

There's a party always going on at South Padre, Texas Station's festive bar and nightclub. You'll discover live entertainment on weekends and a wonderful happy hour in the Martini Bar. Grab a drink at the centrally located Whiskey Bar or play billiards in the Splitz Bar. Plus, fun is on tap in the Garage Bar and A-Bar.

An 18-screen movie complex, the Kids Quest supervised play area and the tranquil outdoor pool combine to create the resort's breadth of amenities. Texas Station also boasts the Texas Star Lanes, a 60-lane bowling center with weekend Cosmic Bowling, a pro shop and a snack bar.
