Rio Hotel The facility is getting tired. Needs upgrading. The check in line is pretty long and they only had two people checking in the guests. May 14, 2013
May trip Great experience. The room was perfect. Very large bedroom area with extra space. Bathroom was awesome, separate sinks and large area. Pool area was great with great service. Free shuttles to the strip are very convienent. Would definetly stay again. May 13, 2013
Rio is Dated, No Show in the sky...Save your money We chose this location because of the price. Also we saw tons of awesome videos and pictures of the show in the sky. When we arrived we saw a sign saying that the show wasn't going on. I was at the blackjack tables the following morning and asked about it. The dealer said that it hadn't gone on since she started working there. THAT WAS OVER 2 1/2 YEARS AGO. Why is this not on the website? You pick a hotel in vegas expecting to get the "theme" or at least the only attraction it has to offer and you get there and its shut down. Service wasn't that great. I called and complained and got $40 in room service. I will say that is you like single deck face down BJ games, this is the place to play. May 12, 2013
BEST EVER!!!! FREE UPGRADE JUST MADE MY DAY. WILL ALWAYS STAY WHILE IN Las Vegas in the future. No problems at all. May 11, 2013
Stay somewhere else This hotel needed updating years ago. It's ragged, dirty, worn out and has no redeeming qualities. Torn carpet, moldy bathroom, no coffee or mini-bar, lousy food that is overpriced. The staff were rude. They have hidden Resort Fees that add $20 + to your nightly bill. You feel like you need to disinfect after staying here. Don't ruin your trip like I did...stay elsewhere. May 10, 2013
Good bargain If you are patient and trying to go to Vegas on a budget check out the Rio. They have shuttles to transport you to the strip which saves you cab fares. Clean spacious rooms with comfy bed. May 9, 2013
Overall stay was A+... I am a coffee drinker.....the only thing that was disappointing; although it was great to have a Keurig coffee maker in the room, there was no coffee to be made. Other than that minor detail. Our overall stay was A+. We would probably stay there again. The rooms were nice and spacious and the view from our room was great! May 9, 2013
Was a really neat place Overall was very happy with our stay. Nice big room and plenty of food choices to eat at. As of march 2013 they now charge an 18.00 + tax resort fee. But they dont tell you about it until your checking out and hit you with it then. Its not that they now charge a resort fee, it was how they did it. Anywhere else we've stayed, they charged it at check in. Other than that, we had a great stay. May 9, 2013

Answer:
Getting from the Rio to the Las Vegas Strip on foot is just under a two-mile walk. A better option may be to take advantage of the Rio's shuttle service to Harrah's and Bally's both located on the Strip. The shuttle pick-up location is near the entrance to the Carnival buffet at Rio. The shuttle runs daily from 10 a.m. - 1 a.m.
