Planet Hollywood Description

Shining in the spotlight of the Las Vegas Strip, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino boasts gourmet restaurants, world-class shopping and dazzling entertainment that has hotel-casino patrons cheering for an encore.

Like the plot of a motion picture, this classic Las Vegas casino -- where Elvis and Priscilla Presley were married -- once rose from the dead: It was imploded in 1998 and then rebuilt from the ground up. As for its most recent dazzling special effect, the Aladdin lifted the curtain to Hollywood in Sin City when it was reborn as Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Since Planet Hollywood's arrival, the property has made a metamorphosis from its lackluster Arabian-theme into a high-tech, retro-chic attraction unlike any other Strip property.

Though infused with a taste of Hollywood culture, the vibe at Planet Hollywood is intended to be welcoming and unpretentious. Who knows, you might even find yourself sitting down to play blackjack next to Jack Black.

The hotel's movie theme is played out in the rooms through film memorabilia displayed in custom-designed cabinetry. The glamorous 12,800-square-foot lobby at Planet Hollywood has eight chandeliers, each comprised of 66,000 individually hand-strung crystals. Black granite floors, textured glass walls and large columns beckon guests to the check-in desk, where bands of LED lights continuously change color.

The 100,000-square-foot casino appears to be in constant motion with glowing rectangular light fixtures, which change colors from red to blue to green to purple. Tall pillars with either geometric patterns or stripes reach from the floor to the ceiling, and neon LED lights brighten the walls. More than 250 flat screen televisions can be found topping slot machines, while 87 table games await those ready to try their luck. Additional gaming options, include a race and sports book and a poker room.

For a bite to eat, head to the Spice Market Buffet or choose from the large menu at the 24-hour coffee shop Planet Dailies. Upstairs on the mezzanine level, Strip House redefines the traditional steakhouse with an innovative menu in a sexy, vintage atmosphere, while KOI, a well-recognized L.A. restaurant and lounge, combines the exotic Far Eastern aura with the energy and style of Hollywood. On the casino level, the first Las Vegas outpost of Earl of Sandwich makes sandwich eating a gourmet treat and the festive cantina Yolos provides a modern tribute to Mexican culture. And Gordon Ramsay BurGR takes the traditional burger to a new level.

Planet Hollywood's Strip entrances are eye-catching and easy to access. They are clearly marked with escalators or stairs leading people off the Strip and into the property. Music plays at the doorways while color-changing orbs decorate the front of the hotel. There is also a clear entrance to the attached Miracle Mile Shops, which is owned separately from the hotel. The mammoth mall has more than 140 stores and dozen restaurants -- like Urban Outfitters, Build-A-Bear Workshop, GAP Body, BCBG Max Azaria and bebe -- incorporating something for every discerning taste.

As expected in Hollywood, Planet Hollywood is packed with high-caliber entertainment. The sexy striptease "Peepshow," featuring reality TV star Coco Austin, offers grown-up entertainment for voyeurs. "Sin City Comedy," a combination of world-class stand-up with sinfully sexy burlesque, is in the Sin City Theatre on the Mezz level. "Tribute Royalty" pays homage to musical greats from Elvis to Michael Jackson, and "The 80's Show" is full of fun throwback references to '80s movies. Both play in the V Theater. Planet Hollywood is also home to one of the best concert venues in Las Vegas, the Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Center stage in the casino of Planet Hollywood is a circular hot spot called the Heart Bar, a place to hang out with the beautiful people while sipping on drinks served by cocktail waitresses in black leather go-go attire. Pet Stay Resort

This PetStay room features 560-square-feet and comes with a choice of one king or two queen beds and two chairs and a table. The room also includes an armoire and a laptop-sized in-room safe.

The PetStay room is a canine-friendly room that includes a mat, waste bags, dog treats, food and water dishes for your pet. You must book the PetStay room type to bring a dog on property.

Each dog must weigh 50 pounds or less. Up to two dogs are allowed per room. Dogs must remain on a leash when walking through public areas and must be accompanied by owner. Check-in time for PetStay rooms is 4 p.m. and dog owners must be prepared to accommodate dogs until the room is ready. Dogs are the only animals allowed under the PetStay program.

Nice casino/lobby areas. Good Location Rooms are very "tired" and in need of updates. Old carpet in hallways and paint job required. Holes in wall in room and furniture all nicked up. Bathrooms were great and in good condition and room was clean. June 15, 2013

Had everything we hoped for on our trip to Vegas Loved everything about our stay at Ph. The price was very good and the location could not have been better. Everyone we encountered from the P H staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and entire hotel and casino was also. Could not have ask for more considering the price. This hotel is in the perfect location I had a great experience. The bed and pillows could've been a bit firmer, but that's a request that the hotel needs to hear. Overall Vegas.com gave me a great deal.!!! I hope to receive another in the future. June 12, 2013

one of the best hotels we stayed at. My husband and I recently stayed at Planet Hollywood for the first time. We always like to stay at a different casino any time we visit. Out of all the hotels, Planet Hollywood went to the top of our list. We stayed in one of the foutainview rooms that overlooked the Belligo, which was very nice to watch at night. Everything was clean. The night life was fun in the casino. There are 2 pools, one for families and the other is for 21 and older with a DJ that plays great music to party to. A lot of different places to eat at. Just downstairs, there is a loop you can walk around full of shops. Walgreens is just next door if you need any thing. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the middle of the action. One night you can go one direction on the strip and another night you can go the other side. There is a resort fee that you do have pay on top of the costs. We highly recommend this hotel and would stay again. June 8, 2013

Great location on the strip for less. ok price and i got my resort fees waived, but terrible room location and because of weak customer service was not worth it to change rooms. actually very poor customer service (maybe they were just busy)....however because of the location, i spent next to no time in the room at all great location next to most of the best stuff on the vegas strip....
