Rated 3 out of 5 by JAR41 Best quality feature is the staff
Food was excellent as was the service in the bar. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was an easy walk to the monorail. The form requires I complete sections I did not use. I did not gamble nor did not use the pool. Overall amenities got a lower rating because, while the Mardi Gras does have an excellent exhaust system, it is still obvious that people smoke in the casino and bar - as happens all over Las Vegas.
I found the Mardi Gras a good value and would stay there again.

The location was great for our purpose, the convention center. The room was ok, nothing fancy. The biggest problem I had was, the second you walked into the lobby to check into the hotel you were floored by the heavy cigarette smoke. Apparently they have no ventilation system to remove it. Couldn't use the restaurant or the bar because the smoke was so heavy. While the room was smoke free, the hotel lost out on our meals and drinks because of the smoke. The staff was coughing and their eyes were red from it and it's a huge disappointment. When you have a small hotel with a small casino, you need to generate revenue besides rooms and I can only imagine how much they are loosing because people can't use the restaurant and bar. I saw many people coming out of the lobby making faces because the smell was so bad. It's not a place I would stay again for that reason only, if it didn't have the smoke, I would stay there again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by shell108 Terrible customer service
We have never encountered a hotel manager who was a rude and unhelpful as the guy at Mardi Gras. He gave us nothing but attitude, always acting like we were stupid, annoying and that he had better things to do. Other desk staff were ok but we had to battle with the maid to stop her cleaning our room while we were still there, even though it was still before check-out time. Pool and the room were both fine. Description on Vegas.com say there is a coffee machine in the room but there isn't. Shuttle to the strip leaves once an hour.

Old run down, but clean.
This is a place to keep your stuff, shower and sleep if your going to the Convention Center.
The Staff was fine, and no complaints there.
The elevator felt like it was about to breakdown any moment.
The pool is only open from 9 am to 9 pm, so by the time I got back to the room, it was closed.
The "Casino" is a joke. maybe 25 slots with no tables.
The food was typical hotel food.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MagicGeorge You definitely get what you pay for in Vegas
The only saving grace was that the bed was comfortable and the air conditioner blew cold air. The bathroom was falling apart, the toilet leaked. The paint was peeling, the closet door was broken, and if there was a screw or bolt anywhere on any fixture in the room, it was loose. Walls are paper thin. I could hear casual conversations in the next room behind my bed. They do have a shuttle that leaves at the top of each hour from the front door which takes you to Bally's for no charge. The bar area was small, and the service was slow. Staff were friendly, so that's a plus.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Brewdawg Great bar, fun pool
For an off strip hotel I got what I expected in room quality and distance to the strip. The bar was great, bartenders were very friendly and service was awesome. The pool was family friendly and the perfect place to cool off, soak up some sun and down a few beers.

We arrived at the hotel sometime after 4:00 pm after a 16 hr drive with our two kids. When we checked in they gave us two rooms that were on opposite sides of the hotel, we were tired so we did not argue this. We went to check the rooms out and were surprised to find they were not what we asked for. When we booked the rooms we requested one room with two beds. I understood this was a request initially but three days before our trip we called and confirmed the rooms were close to one another and one had two beds. We were assured the rooms were next door to one another and one had two beds. I went to the front desk and explained the problem to the manager who was very rude and insisted the online requests for a room with two beds was just that, a request. I told him I understood that but we contacted the hotel directly to know what our accommodations were. The manager did not care that we called ahead and confirmed our requests were met and did nothing to resolve the issue. I had to contact Vegas.com and got them involved, they were very nice and understanding. They contacted the hotel manager while I was on hold and had the issue resolved. We finally got the rooms next to one another and one had two beds. Why couldn’t the manager resolve the issue with me? On to the hotel; the front counter staff were apologetic and tried to accommodate, the maids and handyman were also very friendly, the rooms were ok and they were roomy, towel bars were about to fall off, toilet was clogged, shower curtain was also loose, screws were coming out of the shower facet knob, safety rail on 3rd floor walkway missing bolts, ice machine was out of service with a sign to get ice from the bar but the bartender refused to give ice the server grabbed my ice bucket and filled it anyway arguing with the bartender. Overall there were more cons than pros, I will never recommend this hotel to anyone regardless of the low resort fees (that are ridiculous) or low room rates. Pay a little more and stay somewhere nicer.
