Rated 2 out of 5 by great location long waits for elevator- rooms are out dated...front desk staff helpful July 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I loved this casino and hotel! I had so much fun, I can't wait to come back, I have been home a week and I am all ready saving to come back in the next 7 months July 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Enjoyable Stay This visit was the first time we stayed at the Luxor. We will definitely be back! I enjoyed our stay, the room was spacious and clean. Excellent customer service, just wished WiFi was available but it wasn't a major issue. There is so much to do and see that WiFi was more about having the convenience than a necessity. Cannot wait to return. July 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by i found comfort... Excellent stay. Has a great service. Has it all. No need to go out sidw at all. July 20, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by luxor doesn't live up to advertisement simply put, a below average experience from top to bottom; perhaps the least helpful and the most unfriendly staff i've experienced. July 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by overall a great hotel This hotel is great overall. Parking could be better but everything else exceeded expectations. Slots are not as tight as I thought they would be. Beverage counters alcoholic or non alcoholic like coffee or smoothies are easily accessible. Nice set up. July 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful hotel! This was my first time staying here and it was beyond big and amazing! There were lots of slot machines so you have a pretty big selection. Went to the club there LAX, it was fun, lots of variety of music except the dance floor was small. It was packed and you really didn't have room to dance. The pool was huge yet packed but had lots of swim area. Had drinks in the pool and stayed at the pool for a good 2 hours. One thing I didn't have a good experience was the AC, it was on blast but wasn't cold enough. I will plan on coming back and staying at this hotel next year! July 15, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great features, horrible WiFi with many extra fees The hotel was nice overall with many attractions inside. But our rooms were located on a floor that could not receive the WIFI that we paid daily for. We also requested adjoining rooms, and paid extra for an early check in that proved unworthy of the extra fees because of the location and lack of WIFI. The rooms could've also been better maintained, as there were stains on the "clean" linens. I would probably stay there again because of the convenience and overall appeal, but I would definitely try to get a better deal AND request a better room! July 15, 2014

Answer:
Hi,

Early check in all depends on if the room type you booked is available at the time you show up. The normal check in time at the Luxor is 3 p.m. and the check out time is 11 a.m. If you show up at 7 a.m. there may or may not be any rooms available until after 11 a.m. when check outs take place.

Our advice is to head to the hotel and see if there's an available room. If not, you can still check your bags in, start your vacation and head back to the hotel when your room is ready. There typically isn't a charge to check in your bags or to check into your room early. However it's customary to tip the bellman a few dollars for your bags.

I've had early check in here before, but it will be based on availibility and your willingness to take an available room vs. your preference. (maybe 2 beds instead of a single). I do not remember if there was a fee at Luxor, but if so, I would guess $10-$15

We flew in early as well and had the bell services hold our bags for us until check in time. Check in is at 1130. We got there at 9. Checked our bags and walked around until check in. They are nice enough to bring your bags up to the room if you call and tell them what room you are in. Very convenient and easy. I would recommend doing that.

So almost everywhere we go even after paying the nightly rate we now have a Resort Fee per night.
What exactly do the guests get from this fee?
Is it just a sneaky way of getting tips?
Why do Vegas hotels have this when the pool hours are very limited?

paying an extera 20 bucks or more a night for a Resort fee seems not good to me.

Answer:
Resort fees have become common in Las Vegas -- for better or worse. It is not a way to get tips. Basically, a resort fee is a fee charged per room/per night on top of the daily room rate (and it is not optional). Depending on the property, the resort fee covers an array of services -- usually things like pool and fitness room usage as well as items like internet access, bottled water, a daily newspaper or drink/dining/show discounts at the resort. At the Luxor, the resort fee is $18 per night and includes your in-room high-speed internet service, a daily newspaper, access to the fitness center and local/long-distance/800 phone calls.

We paid $80 in resort fees and received no "resort" perks in my opinion. the room consisted of a bed, TV and bathroom. We did not use the pool or have the fortune to be able to book a spa visit and I have no idea what else a resort fee was supposed to entitle us too because we paid dearly for everything!

The way they look at it , it's a fee for general upkeep and pool maintenance ect... but as a lot of us out there know, its just an additional way to charge us extra for the complinentary room upgrades and drinks and lost towels. They think its justifiable because its called a "resort fee".

I am told these "Resort Fees" are a relatively new innovation. As to what do you get for the fees?? Nothing that you didn't get before their introduction. I only ever saw the pool from my room window, and never even laid eyes on a gym. Left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Answer:
I wondered the same thing. I stayed at two different hotels over the span of a week in Vegas. Both had resort fees at different prices. At the Luxor, the resort fee not only covered pool services (pool was open 11 hours a day), but you also got 2 complimentary drinks through room service per day, $20 to use for one of the casino restaurants, access to the gym and discount prices at the spa. Different hotels offer different amenities for the resort fee but basics seem to cover: pool gym, spa discounts, and food discounts within the hotel/casino. Depending on which hotel you stay, they may add other bonuses such as the complimentary drinks at the Luxor. When you check-in they give you a pamphlet explaining the resort fees and what you get from them.

I questioned this fee at check in. It is suppose to be for being able to use the spa and other services. I did ask if it was mandatory since I had no plans on using any of their services. I was told it was a mandatory fee. I guess if you really want to fight it, you can ask to speak to a supervisor but we just went ahead and paid it.

Answer:
The Luxor does not offer a coffee pot in any of their rooms. They also do not have a refrigerator. However, you can request a mini refrigerator for your room, but there is a $25 per night fee and they do not guarantee they will be available. Coffee pots are not available to rent.

Answer:
We stayed in a Pyramid King suit... we were surprised there was no coffee pot, fridge or even a safe. We didn't think to ask if they were available for a fee, although we DID notice what appeared to be a safety deposit box area of sorts just to the left of the registration desks, so that may be why there was no safe in the room.

Answer:
No coffee pots or in room fridges. It is designed that way so you have to go downstairs thru the casino, money in hand to get these things. It's a ploy to get you to gamble.
