Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 885 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by No guest accommodations....pool and parking. Yes, the pool is fun. Seeing the sharks in the slide while in the pool is fun. However having to sit out 3 hours before the pool opens to get a chair is no fun. Driving up to a hotel you are paying to stay in and being turned away from Valet and self park due to being full. Where does a paying hotel guest park? Really where? We spent 30 minutes one night stalking people walking back to their cars in the parking garage to find a place to park. I understand it is all about the almighty dollar but save places for paying hotel guests. Save a floor in the parking garage for hotel guests...do something. We paid to stay at the Golden Nugget yet parked at the neighboring casinos numerous times or stalked people leaving to get their place. I guess if you go to Fremont Street you know you will be surrounded by a ton of people, but you expect a bit of a reprieve when you get to your hotel and honestly we found more places to sit and hang out on Fremont Street than in the hotel we paid to stay at. Honestly don't think I would go back. Rooms were ok...pool was fun...but too many other options in Vegas to go back to the Nugget. Vegas.com not helpful...if you go to the Nugget go direct...rooms are cheaper...that may make it worth the no parking and no place to hang out at the pool. September 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Just OK. We stayed in room 14211 over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Some issues: 1. During check in to the Rush Tower, there were 9 people in line waiting to check in and only 1 person working. The lady from the VIP counter did not jump in to help. 2. The room was great, but the view was not all that great. But the more we looked in the room, the less happy we were. There was popcorn between the cushions! That didn't make us feel good about the cleanliness of the room. 3. Way too much cigarette smoke. If we had our choice, we would not have stayed in downtown. The cigarette smoke was overwhelming outside, inside, poolside, in the restaurant, in the casino and in the room... and all over our clothes. We found ourselves changing multiple times a day and showering to get the smell off ourselves. September 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fremont High Bar This is a nice place off the strip, but still in the thrum of Fremont Street. The buffet is a good one and the pool, while a little packed with children most of the day, is nice to relax around. Stretching out by the adults only pool upstairs with the hot desert wind blowing across was partciluarly relaxing. The casino is probably the best on Fremont Street. But beware of the Shark Tank slide. I still have a fiberglass burn on my elbow from going down that thing. It was fun, and I'd probably do it again. But I'll be more careful about tucking my arms in and only sliding where there's water next time. September 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Location, location, location. We enjoyed our first downtown stay while in LV and the GN was a great location. Wish the room would've included complimentary coffee - $10 per cup seems a bit ridiculous. We would've appreciated having a king sized bed instead of 2 doubles, but that would've been a $22 upgrade. Rooms were clean and the cleaning staff did a good job. We enjoy Black Jack but are not high stakes gamblers. The Gold Nugget was one of the few casinos downtown that did not offer $5 tables. Consequently, we did not gamble there much. However, the poolside BJ at the GN was unique and fun even though it was a $10 table. The BJ tables did not have cup holders and consequently spills were a problem at the tables. September 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by best hotel on freemont street This hotel is far best of all the hotel and casino in downtown Las Vegas. Easy access to other casinos and shops. Most of all, its cleanest and well keep in and out. We got to ride zip lining too! Not to mention best restaurant in the hotel. Char house and Claim jumpers were great! August 23, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Never ever GN Bad Service, loud guests, dirty rooms, tiny pool but close to wedding stations August 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good location. Good location and food. Air conditioning in my room not as good as others. August 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rooms We stayed in the Rush Tower. Your cleaning service did not do a good job at cleaning the rooms. I stayed there last year for the first time and they did not do a good job at the time either.. August 19, 2014

Answer:
Yes, the Golden Nugget does have smoking rooms. If you're ready to book, your best bet is speak to one of our customer service representatives -- just call toll-free in the U.S. at (866) 998-3427. They can make the arrangements for you, and that way you'll be assured of receiving a smoking room.

No. You can take public transportation but you must transfer buses once and I wouldn't recommend it. Take a cab from the airport and tell him to take the fast way. He'll know.

Answer:
I took the bus (#108) from the Nugget to the airport; I believe we were dropped off at Terminal-1 and then took the shuttle to Terminal-3 (Frontier Airlines).

We caught the bus in front of the Nugget and transferred one stop later. That's where we caught the 108 line. It had a lot of stops, but we had planned for the extra time and just enjoyed the different parts of the city and the ride. I think the whole ride from hotel to airport was less than 45 minutes. Consider the time versus the $70 cab fare.

Another alternative would be to take the Express to the Strip, and then get a cab to the airport from one of the hotels. That would keep the cost down and make the trip a bit shorter.

Answer:
The Golden Nugget has two pools. The Tank (with the shark tank and a three-story water slide) and The Hideout (a private pool for guests ages 16 or older). Currently, the hours at The Tank are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, while The Hideout is open until 2 a.m. every night. The Jacuzzi at the Golden Nugget also has late hours -- i.e., open daily from 10 a.m.-2 a.m.

It's very easy. There are definitely bus routes from downtown to the Strip. Check http://www.rtcsnv.com/transit/route... for routes and schedules.
The monorail does not run downtown, so your best bet will be the bus.

Yes, both my husband and I required motorized scooters to get around. They have better rates for the longer you are staying and require one, or they have manual wheelchairs at no cost. The bell captain desk can arrange it for you. They will even hold the chair if you leave to shop, sightsee, etc. Getting these made getting around the hotel and out on Fremont Street much easier. The elevates will accommodate 2 scooters at a time. Enjoy.
