Excalibur Description

At the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, guests are treated like royalty with offerings fit for a king and his court, including updated accommodations, bustling casino action, scrumptious dining and exciting entertainment.

Set majestically between the New York skyline and an Egyptian pyramid at the intersection of Tropicana and Las Vegas Boulevard on the Strip, returning customers to the Excalibur will notice that the castle is undergoing a transformation. The rainbow and jewel tones of the interior have been updated with more subdued colors like navy blues and brown, new carpet lines much of the property and the several heavy chandeliers that formerly crowded the casino floor were removed, allowing for more natural light.

Featuring a stylish, modern décor, the 1,000 remodeled Widescreen rooms at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino offer guests upgraded amenities including a 42-inch flat screen television, an alarm clock with iPod inputs and a large bathroom with granite countertops, while the standard rooms continue to offer comfort at an affordable price.

The 100,000-square-foot casino is open and inviting with slots and video poker machines ranging from 1 cent to $100 as well as a wide variety of table games. Original stained glass panels depicting scenes from medieval times colorfully decorate the roof above the casino floor.

In the middle of the gaming area, the non-smoking poker room offers easy access to smoking areas and several nearby bars, including the candlelit bar The Lounge, which features live entertainment seven nights a week. The casino also has a separate area for both high-limit slots and high-limit table games, providing those spending the extra cash with much desired privacy. The 145-seat race and sports book drips in comfort with extra-wide, cushioned chairs and a full bar just steps away. The horse racing side of the book features taller chairs, making it easier for excited bettors to jump to their feet when the action is hot.

Throughout the casino, escalators and elevators provide easy access to the Excalibur’s upper and lower levels. Upstairs, guests will find restaurants (The Steakhouse at Camelot, Regale and the Roundtable Buffet), the motorcycle-themed Octane Lounge, shops, a showroom (shared by court jester Louie Anderson and knights sans shining armor The Thunder from Down Under) and an impressive food court. This floor is also home to the Canterbury Wedding Chapel and a large banquet facility.

Downstairs, the Excalibur midway offers carnival-style games with plush prizes and an arcade full of all the latest video games, designed for kids and the kid at heart. Take a journey under the sea on The Spongebob Squarepants 4D Ride or enjoy a feast and a show at the arena-style Tournament of Kings.

On the casino level, guests’ cups will most certainly runneth over at Dick's Last Resort, where food and drinks are delivered with a side of irreverence. The Sherwood Forest Cafe provides a hearty meal, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 24 hours a day.

After a long night of rabble rousing and general good cheer, those looking for a little relaxation or to burn some calories, will want to visit the Royal Treatment Spa and Fitness Center where they will find a sauna, steam room and gym, as well as a full menu of body treatments.

Rounding out the kingdom is the luscious pool area, which is much more than just a moat. This includes the Drenched pool café and a separate adult-only pool with cabanas, perfect for the king and queen of the castle.
