Sapphire Review

We’re going to have to ask you to just trust us for a minute on this metaphor, because it doesn’t exactly radiate sexiness. But it makes sense and we’ll explain, so just go with it:

Sapphire is the IKEA of the strip club world.

Now, it’s not a perfect, 100-percent fit, this metaphor, but here’s what makes it work and makes it awesome:

Sapphire is huge. Sapphire has something for everyone. Sapphire is clean. Sapphire has women and men showing a whole lot of skin…wait, no. That’s not like IKEA. But still.

All right, all right. We’ll let this go.

Sapphire is still pretty great though.

Like we said, it’s huge (70,000 square feet, to be more precise). This is the kind of building that when you drive by, you expect a sign for Costco or a Super K-Mart or a mega-gym. But inside it’s half naked dancers, so obviously it’s a lot better.

The club is split up into a couple of different sections (lighting, housewares, bedding…kidding, kidding), but they all come together to form an atmosphere that’s suited for whatever night you want to have.

Early in the evening, only the first half of the main room is opened up, with a curtain drawn across the other half. There’s a smaller stage on each side of a raised stage that acts as a middle point of the room. A projection screen sits high on the wall playing music videos for whatever the ladies are dancing to and three bars make it easy to grab a drink.

In a separate room, Sapphire’s men perform slightly more theatrically than the ladies. Be on the lookout for the Phantom dancer, who resembles a certain Andrew Lloyd Webber character.

The club is decked out with a mixture of pop art, sexy art and sexy pop art, while a killer lighting system sets the mood. VIP booths and skyboxes can take your evening to a more opulent level, if you don’t mind dropping the coin.

The dancers come in all types and are friendly and attractive, so it’s sort of the best of worlds.

Dances are reasonably priced and drink prices are about what you’d expect at a club of this caliber.

Basically, you can think of it this way: you could have a tchotchke you’ll never use from the real IKEA or you could have a great time with some attractive dancers and a night you’ll use all the time when recounting stories to your buddies. Not too tough of a call.
