DayDream Review

You know when you're sitting at your desk and your mind wanders? Suddenly you're poolside, fresh fruit at your disposal, a cocktail in hand, basking in the sun without a care in the world?

Yeah, we all have that same daydream.

Lucky for everyone, the folks at M Resort went ahead and made it a reality with the appropriately-named DayDream Pool Club.

A 21-and-older area separate from the resort's main pool, DayDream is pretty much everything you think about when you're stuck somewhere you don't want to be. There's a rectangular-shaped pool, plenty of lounge chairs -- and if all that work has padded your pockets, you can even spring for a daybed or cabana (there are 10 of them, tricked out with TVs, iPod docking station, Wi-Fi and more).

But it's not the space that makes DayDream a, well, dream. It's the little things. Staff is helpful and not just in the normal ways. It's more than getting you a drink or a towel -- pool attendants at DayDream have things like shammies and repair kits for your sunglasses.

And if you want to do more than relax, you can go for a swim in the pool (there's also a hot tub) or listen to music. A live DJ or iPod is almost always pumping tunes into the space, so you can save your own iPod from the harsh sun.

Speaking of the sun, since it's hot outside and you can't always be shoveling ice into your drink, DayDream has even solved the pesky melting problem -- a railing around the bar is made from ice (the kind that's kept cold with technology), set your drink on it and it stays cold.

Plus, beyond all that, there's a lot more to DayDream. But you knew that already, right? Remember last Tuesday's staff meeting -- your mind was already there.
