Azure Review
The term "party like a rockstar" has been taken to new heights in Vegas over the last few years. On any given night, you can rub elbows with A-listers all over town or party in clubs owned by people like Eva Longoria or Jason Giambi.
Partying like royalty sounds like something you need one of those fancy gold-embossed invitations for and sadly, that's something that most of us will never get to experience.
However, the Palazzo gives everyone a chance to be treated like a duke or duchess with Azure pool club, a little slice of the French Riviera, the popular European destination that has played host to royalty since the 19th century.
Royalty can't have dry, sun-damaged skin so Azure provides an Evian mister. Royalty doesn't settle for a run of the mill burger. Instead, Azure provides one prepared by Wolfgang Puck with toppings like Vermont white cheddar and onion marmalade. And if the DJ isn't playing exactly what a royal wants to hear, well, just request that Olivia Newton-John song you've been jonesing for and odds are you'll hear it mixed in.
With all the elite amenities at Azure you're probably thinking you need to have an address at a British palace or a second home in Switzerland. But for as little as $50 you can jump into a lounge chair, sample Puck's menu and sip on a cocktail.
Azure manages to blend in four distinct areas that can give you vastly different experiences depending on the crowd. There are two different pool areas to choose from and both feature plenty of lounge chairs, daybeds and cabanas. Most people seem to flock toward the middle pool where you can break the ice with some newfound friends while batting around a beach ball, but you can also step back into the other pool where you will sometimes find a smaller crowd.
For those feeling up to it, there is a partially-secluded hot tub just inside the entrance with a three-tiered fountain flowing into it.
One thing Azure offers that you won't see at a lot of the pool clubs in town is a view of the Strip. From the rotunda, which is set apart from the pools, you can look over Las Vegas Boulevard, the Fashion Show Mall and watch the pirate show at Treasure Island.
If you're looking to experience one last thing before your Vegas trip comes to an end, but you're not up for another binge drinking fest, try unwinding at Azure on Sunday. Dolce Vita gives you a taste of the sweet life where you can have brunch while sipping on Moët as you try to push away the thoughts of returning to a not-so-privileged life.
