No one can be sure, but rumor has it that Snick's was Las Vegas' first gay bar. It opened in 1976 and has been a locals' favorite for years as part of the downtown arts district.
Snick's Place has a laid-back vibe and a reputation for having some of the friendliest bartenders in town -- friendly in the sense that they’ll lend you an ear when you want to cry about your partner, not friendly as in they’ll accept “favors” for drinks. But hey, it never hurts to ask.
Patrons enjoy shuffleboard and a great Internet jukebox. Gay or straight, you'll find a warm welcome at this downtown dive. Just look for the sign with the cartoon elephant.
