Yard House Review
What do you think they would buy?
Beer.
Obviously.
So if you imagine the beer — the variety, the sheer quantity, the row after row of kegs — that Delta House stumbled into with this imaginary windfall, you might be somewhere close to imagining what it's like at Yard House.
Now, it's not like we're saying Yard House is actually Frat House. It's definitely not. There's some great food, like pretty fancy macaroni and cheese and a wide selection of burgers and pizza (bar food, but done classy), and flat-screen TVs visible from literally every seat in the place (or so it seems, we'll test that theory during the World Series). There's some nice wood flooring or accents or walls, we're not really sure, whatever. Because seriously, the focus in Yard House is not the walls or the table tops or even the Cleveland Indians making history on the TVs (which they will, just wait), it's their beer room.
Folks from other parts of the country may be familiar with Yard House's beer room (which is just what we're calling it, there's probably a better name, but this one just...fits). But the Yard House in Town Square is Vegas' first and so seeing a whole room of kegs and plastic tubing immediately to your left when you walk in a place, well, that's what Sin City calls a "selling point."
The beer list numbers something like 200 and it's piped to taps at the bar through tubing that winds its way overhead through the restaurant. Eventually it ends up in your glass and that's really what matters. There's selections from across the globe, some hometown favorites (like the Sin City Brews, a favorite of Dads everywhere) and some old friends from paydays in college.
For happy hour, Yard House lops whole dollars off the price of fancy-schmancy brews (they come in, no joke, goblets), so you can try that new beer you were curious about without ending up spitting your $8 back on the table because what looked like Guinness did not taste like Guinness. Regular beer is on special, too, so go ahead, order a PBR. No one will judge you. Least of all the brothers from Delta House, who are all grown up now, and hey, would you look at that, are sitting at the next table over. Say hi to Pinto for us.
