Rhumbar Review
It’s one thing for a bar to serve mojitos, but when the bar is actually modeled after a mojito, you know it’s going to be something special.
Rhumbar at the Mirage was inspired by the Caribbean and designed to be reminiscent of the cool, classic cocktail. Abstract white mint leaves adorn the 20-foot-tall glass walls and the bar is decorated with white bar stools, a white marble bar and bright green accents.
Rum aficionados will appreciate Rhumbar’s menu of 40 featured rums and signature drinks like the 1944 Mai Tai, the Latin Manhattan and the Samba Swizzle, complete with candied ginger garnish. There is also a walk-up frozen daiquiri bar outside the main entrance.
The sleek, stylish Rhumbar is small (the 2,000-square-foot space used to be home to the gift shop for Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden) but the intimate space, with room for 100 guests, makes it feel exclusive.
One of the best things to pair with rum is a cigar and Rhumbar doesn’t disappoint. The bar has a humidor showcasing 40 cigar brands.
Of course you’ll have to take that cigar outside and that’s not a bad place to be at Rhumbar. The bar offers a cozy patio surrounded by the Mirage’s lush landscaping and decorated with comfortable furniture and two massive lamp fixtures. It’s the perfect spot for people watching - guests coming up the Mirage’s walkway from the Strip have to pass by. It also offers a partial view of the hotel’s revamped volcano attraction.
