Le Bar du Sport Review
When you think of a typical sports bar, dark hardwood floors and elegant marble bar tops don't usually come to mind -- unless you're inside Paris Las Vegas, that is, a resort that has a way of making even its drinking establishments look and sound elegant.
Its sports bar, Le Bar du Sport, sounds more like a sophisticated place to sip a Chardonnay rather than a place to cheer on your favorite team.
But the bar, located adjacent to the sports book, is a sports lover's dream. It has dozens of televisions so no matter where you're sitting, you have a view of the action. A word of warning though -- the TVs are positioned a bit too high, which means you will be constantly looking up to see them.
Le Bar du Sport may be the best place in town to go if you have a hangover on the morning of the big game. The drink menu offers an extensive collection of Bloody Marys such as the Ultimate Sports Mary, the New England Mary, the Wild Wild West Mary, which includes a dash of beef bouillon and special barbecue sauce, or the Hollywood Mary, where you can be a "prima donna" and choose your own vodka and spices.
Other drinks available at Le Bar du Sport include a selection of bartender's original creations such as the Area 51, a mix of Malibu rum, Midori and pineapple juice on the rocks.
Drink prices are reasonable. Draft beers are $3, although the glasses are slightly smaller than your typical draft beer size. Bottled beer goes for $3.75, and mixed drinks are $5.50. If you simply must take something home with you to remember your trip to Paris, you can buy a $12.95 souvenir Paris balloon glass, filled with your choice of beer or well drink.
