Even in January it can be 70 degrees in Las Vegas. And don't even get us started on the 100-and-kill-me-now-degree temperatures in the summer. So it makes sense that Minus 5, the ice bar that's also popular in Orlando and New York (Really?), would find multiple homes here in the desert.
Before we go any further, know that it's not like "Frozen." So please don't walk in there singing that song that's probably already running through your head. Sorry about that. But do walk in wearing the parka and gloves provided because this place is c-c-c-cold. And you'll be sitting on ice, and setting your drink on ice, in a glass made of ice, in a room filled with ice, next to Vanilla Ice… scratch that last one. But it's still a lot of ice.
The ice bar is also home to ornate sculptures and formations carved from the finest Italian marble flown in directly from Rome. Just kidding, they're made of ice. Some notable presentations in the past have been a car, a bull and, because it's Vegas, Elvis.
Get most of your favorite drinks and hang out by the faux fireplace at this freezing bar -- calling it cool would be a disservice. But be aware, this bar's special attraction comes with special requirements: There is an entry fee. Prices range from $17 and go up from there depending on what you add to your package.
Also they don't let cell phones in, so don't expect to get an ice-covered selfie. You can choose to purchase a photo as part of your package.
And you should not try to lick things. We know it's tempting. But just imagine the awkwardness of getting your tongue stuck to Elvis' bum and waiting for the bar's staff to come in with a cup of warm water. Believe us. That experience will not stay in Vegas.
