There are a lot of mysteries in a town like Las Vegas.
Weird names are tossed around like poker chips and you don't always quite know just what kind of a night you're in for. Everything is not always as it seems.
But with Kahunaville, located inside Treasure Island, you know exactly what to expect because before you even set foot inside, you can hear the party. In fact you can see the party, just go ahead and look up and there it is, your night's course laid out for you in bold-faced letters -- "World Famous Party Bar."
Decorated like some sort of tropical paradise meets tropical paradise gift shop, Kahunaville features some little fake torches, some faux greenery and oh, yeah, video poker.
But in this case, it's not so much the physical atmosphere that makes Kahunaville what it is (although it helps), it's everything.
Kahunaville features flair bartenders, which, in case you're not familiar, is a lot of bottle-flipping, a lot of tricky maneuvering and a lot of ooh-ing and aah-ing.
Plus, they're not just making your boring, everyday drinks. Or, if they are, like margaritas, they're making them like you've never had before.
While you could easily just drink your day away at Kahunaville, there's no need to stick to a liquid diet because the restaurant area also boasts an extensive menu. You can grab a burger or stick with the island theme and munch on seafood -- whatever floats your boat, if you'll pardon the pun.
There's even an oxygen bar on the property in case the sight of the monster drinks Kahunaville serves up takes your breath away (they're huge, seriously).
So while Las Vegas is still the desert it has always been, go ahead and treat yourself to a vacation within a vacation at the faux-island paradise that is Kahunaville.
