Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas Review

If you want to visit the "most famous beer hall in the world," you don't have to travel overseas. Look no further than the corner of Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road.

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas brings a little piece of Bavaria to the desert. The bar/restaurant is an authentic replica of the Munich Hofbräuhaus that was originally commissioned in 1589 by King William V.

This beer hall replica features German/Bavarian cuisine, imported Bavarian beer, meat and sausage products produced exclusively for Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas and frozen Bavarian pretzels imported directly from Munich and freshly baked as needed.

Hofbräuhaus is authentic down to the smallest detail -- even the roof, which is made of 75,000 imported Bavarian tiles.

It wouldn't be Vegas without a souvenir shop, and Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas' is a unique one, featuring beer steins, cuckoo clocks, Bavarian attire and more.

If you come to Hofbräuhaus, you'd better come thirsty. The 66,000-square-foot building houses a beer hall, beer garden and bar. The main beer hall holds 380 people and features columns, painted ceilings and a historical interior just like the one in Munich.

The Biergarten holds 430 people and features an artificial outdoor atmosphere and servers in authentic Bavarian garb.

Between the boisterous beer drinkers and the festive bands, the beer hall and beer garden can get a bit noisy. If you want some peace and quiet, just head out to the patio.

Beer is definitely the specialty at Hofbräuhaus. The Hofbräu Original is $9.99 for a 34 ounce mug or $5.40 for 17 ounces. Try the Biker Beer/Radler -- a mix of Hofbräu Original and Sierra Mist.

If beer isn't your thing, the bar features a nice selection of wines and German liquors and specialty drinks such as the Pear Cosmo or the Jäger Alexander, made of brandy, jägermeister, creme de cocoa and cream.
