It's hard to make a place in Vegas your own, especially if you're only in town for a short time. Venues open at weird times or only on certain nights -- it's tough to hang around the same place enough that you feel like it's "your" bar.
That is, until First Food and Bar opened.
Located inside the Palazzo, First has all the trappings of a place you'd want to call your home away from home. There's good food -- Executive Chef Sam DeMarco puts together stuff like lollipop buffalo wings and lobster rolls -- and it's served pretty much any time you'd be hungry. They're open for breakfast (with a separate little coffee bar area that gives off an awesome, open vibe) until late, late night. We're talking, "the clubs have closed but you're still hungry and awake" kind of late night.
Obviously the menu changes throughout the day, but we've been promised that you can usually always find and order the thing you're jonesing for.
Then there's the bar. Yes, yes, there are a lot of bars in Las Vegas. But we've already mentioned how this one comes complete with an epic restaurant and that's not the only dealmaker for First. The bar is to the left of the entrance, a sweeping, open feeling space with touches like wood floors and graffiti on the walls.
There are great fancy drinks and there are classic drinks, like beer, poured through a frozen tap contraption that keeps thing super cold.
Flat screen TVs throughout the bar area rotate entertainment, so you might catch the big game (if there's one on) or some music-themed clips.
And if this all sounds great, but you're too busy in a conference or convention to be spending your nights on the town, don't worry, First makes time for you, too. First is open straight through the day with open seating for refugees from the convention centers. You can grab a table and get a little work while enjoying -- wait for it -- free WiFi.
Whether First is your, um, first stop of the day or your last one, it's one you'll be glad you made. And if you're town just a day or two or longer, we bet it's one you'll make again.
