Like a modern-day speakeasy, the outside of Mob Bar doesn't seem like it's made to draw you in…but in the end, that simple, standoffish look is actually what ends up making you interested in seeing what this cool downtown bar has to offer on the inside.
Located in the Downtown Grand, directly across the street from The Mob Museum, Mob Bar might be the perfect complement to the Prohibition Era exhibits at the museum. Servers and bartenders are dressed in 1920s outfits, walls display posters from the Golden Age of Hollywood and the drink menu is dominated by classic cocktails.
And Mob Bar's mixologists would be more than happy to fix you up a tasty cocktail indeed. The "Smoking Gun," Mob Bar's signature cocktail, is made with Smirnoff vodka, Chambord, grapefruit juice and sweet and sour mix, but every signature libation is delicious. It won't take much convincing to try a few among friends.
In addition to the drinks, you'll discover a weekly lineup of martini meetings and musical performances on tap here -- including dueling pianos, crooners and intimate jazz.
There are enough tasty drink and entertainment options here that an invitation to Mob Bar might just be an offer you can't refuse.
